For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
Pedophiles never give up their child porn stash, but I would imagine that his stash is with his laptop (on it or burn on cd) or it is stored electronically on some server on the web.
Autopsy and other reports all say the would to the head was a massive blow and gash (yes this could be caused by a bat) HOWEVER:
There is no blodd spattering or other forensic evidence of a savge blow/beating done in Jonbenet's room.
The autopsy said the blow to the head happened at or near death (IE her heart was not pumping blood) and that it did not bleed profusely. A blow with a bat to a live person would have caused massive bleeding, causing a large amount of blood and splattering in the room. A closed wound would have caused a massive hematoma at the impact point as the heart would have been sending blood to the injured area until it stopped.
There is no hematoma at the blow area per the autoopsy report, no large amount of blood in her room, no splattering in her room, no blood trail from the room to the basement, no pooling at her body --- ergo the blow did not come elsewhere in the house, at least not while she was still alive.
Well, that's a surprise to me. I'm no expert but the autopsy report (which is online and you can google it) specifically states that the skull was split wide open from front to back along the top right side. The coroner also stated that it was the skull injury that caused the death, not the ligature. He even goes on to say that the ligature was applied 10 - 45 minutes AFTER the head injury was sustained.
So, I don't know what you've heard but that's what the autopsy report said.
JonBenet was a public figure and as such her existence known to many with criminal and violent intentions.
The pig just wanted out of a foreign prison and into our cushy prisons...and to where he figured he'd have his member lopped off for free.
Good point. I'm not sure why the autopsy report seems to imply (at least to me) that the head injury was first. There was little or no blood found anywhere in the home!
She did have a cracked skull.
The blow occurred very close to the time of death, but did not cause death, she was strangled. Like someone was strangling and beating her at the same time.
Except he was not in a foriegn prison -- he was a second grade teacher living in an apartment in Bankok. He was arrested on the request of American authorities so he could be brought back to the states.
I thought about the temperature and putrefaction. It was something like 10 deg F outside. So, if she was in the basement all night it would only DELAY the putrefaction even longer, pushing her death even earlier. Unless someone can explain the rigor and putrefaction evidence (all based on the temp and body weight) I can't see how she died after 11 p.m.
But you may be right, there is so much disinformation in this case it's hard to tell anything for sure.
Read it again, please. The first page summary states cause of death as asphyxiation from strangulation. Just above the ME's signature.
Well, that's not quite how I read it but maybe I'm not reading it right. It doesn't seem to make a determination of WHICH was THE cause, only that both were? Here's the quote:
"Cause of death of this six year old female is asphyxia by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma".
I see your point but the sentence doesn't seem definitive as to what THE cause was.
flash back...

Carnes notes in her ruling that one man named in the Ramseys book, Michael Helgoth, committed suicide two months after the murder and one day after District Attorney Alex Hunter announced they were narrowing the search for JonBenets killer.
A stun gun was found near Mr. Helgoths body, as well as HI-TEC boots. Evidence in the case suggests that JonBenets killer used a stun gun on her. Unidentified shoeprints from HI-TEC boots also were found in the Ramseys basement.
It reads to me like he's saying that BOTH were the cause without distinguishing precedence of one over the other.
Helgoth mayhave been part of it -- very plausible scenario on your part.
However, he also could have committed suicide just as you describe it. Follow:
Hold a pillow to your left side/Chest, Reach across with your right hand as if holding a gun, simulate a shot.
Your right hand is not braced, as such when the gun is fired the bullet will enter right where you aim (Peircing your heart or vital organs - either way you have killed yourself successfully) -- now the recoil of the gun is unimpeded as your right hand/arm is not braced as it would on a normal shot -- The gun will recoil straight at the angle you are holding it, with your right hand across your body it will fly back and right, you have just shot yourself in the chest, your body will go straight back, you will open your grip from the shock to your body
At this point physics take over. You right arm will land either across your abdomen or fly to the right side of your body, the gun which is now heading back and to your right and no longer held will land at your RIGHT SIDE most likely between your shoulder and hip.
"....Unidentified shoeprints from HI-TEC boots also were found in the Ramseys basement...."
Not only that, but a sort of red algae was growing on the floor of the cellar where Jon Benet's body was found, and a similar red substance was found in the treads of Helgoth's boot!! And the Boulder PD doesn't have any interest in Helgoth.
