Fox is reporting that she knew this was in the works. I believe that is from John Ramsey's statement.
I have always felt that the rush to judgment against the Ramseys was class envy pushed by the Pageant angle and nurtured by several concurrent stories of mother's killing their children.
As far as the press goes, it's the same dynamic that makes "reality" tv, not truly reality...but a story made up in post production. I laugh every time someone says "I totally did not see that coming."

I agree that class envy played a role in the reaction to the Ramseys... so, when did class envy become popular in this country? It used to be the American Dream.
When I was young, the working class all hoped to become
rich one day ('rich' being a relative term). Now you find those who were born into the upper socio-economic bracket trying to distance themselves (if not their bank accounts) from being seen as wealthy. Howard Dean/Lamont, even Bush and Frist do it.
I just don't get it ...I still want to be seriously rich and, if I ever get there, you will not hear one word of apology. Ever.
