we are at war. that's pretty stressful for all of us. stress relief behavior goes up.
the first drug test i remember was in 1980....maybe that's why drinking went up after? :-)
Most likely, since addicts generally change from one chemical crutch for another...but I sure as hell didn't need risk my life by having fuzzy head or altered brain chemistry during first Gulf War.
There are plenty other avenues to reduce anxiety and stress without resorting to alcohol or nicotine.
