Soccer Mom, this is quotes from the ARRESTING officer, who actually is Jewish.. he has stated he didn't want to ruin Gibsons career and understands it was just the booze talking... For crying out loud, a drunk person arrested for DUI abusing a cop arresting him???? Lord, string them up.. that's never happened before.

As for his opposition to the war, or Bush, that's a totally different matter altogether. And that's a discussion for another time. All you have going on here is a dog pile of stupidity.. if this had been say A Kennedy who oh, I don't know, wrecked his car at 3am because he was $hitfaced these same folks calling for Gibson's head would be holding him up as an icon for seeking help for his problem etc etc etc...

This is all just fabricated outrage by people who don't like Gibson.

Perhaps you misunderstood my post. I'm suggesting that people like Hildy are jumping on Gibson because of his opposition to the war, where normally they would give him a pass. He's actually getting it from both sides -- conservatives are mad at him for his opposition to the war and liberals are mad at him for his conservative religious beliefs. I'm inclined to think this is more than a simple case of drunkeness. Personally, I think it is a symptom of bipolar disorder. That said, he has apologized and he is getting help. I don't know what more he can do.
