LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - David Hasselhoff was banned from a plane for being too drunk.

The 'Baywatch' star, nicknamed The Hoff, turned up intoxicated to London's H eathrow airport at 7am yesterday (26.07.06), and then continued to knock back drinks in British Airways' first class lounge as he waited to board his 9.55am flight to Los Angeles. The troubled actor - who recently claimed he had beaten his alcohol problems - ranted to airline staff and VIP passengers about his divorce and moaned, "My life is a mess."

An onlooker said: "He was drinking alone and staring into space, He started ranting incoherently. It was clear he was talking about his wife and the messy divorce. Her was sobbing and nodding his head."

During his drunken stupor the star stumbled into a duty free shop and lifted up the manageress.

Another witness revealed: "The manager said, 'I don't think you're fit to fly, sir.' He told her. 'I think you are right.'"

Onlookers were even more horrified when a dark wet patch appeared around the actor's groin area.

BA staff decided Hasselhoff was unfit to travel and asked him to sleep it off and wait for another flight.

He was finally allowed to board a flight two hours later, but was taken there in a buggy - usually reserved for elderly passengers.

A BA spokesman confirmed: "A male passenger was denied boarding on the BA279 Heathrow to Los Angeles service because he was deemed unfit to travel. He was assessed later and passed fit to fly on BA283.

A missed opportunity to remove the thorn from a lions paw. That's what I'd have done, become his new best friend. Immediately at least one more resort condo is available to me.

KITT was the only female that could talk back to Hasselhoff without punishment

Too bad she's not airworthy.

I've been pretty drunk before, but I've never been so drunk that I pissed my pants.

"If this guy is knocking back drinks at 7 in the morning he is a alcoholic. No way around it."

As one whose father was an alchoholic all I can say is "Once an Alcoholic, always an Alcoholic"

Doesn't matter if you are 'on the wagon' or not.

"When has he ever had an eye for talent?"

Well, he certainly should have a keenly developed sense for a lack of talent. That would be sufficient for the early rounds, lol.

You'd think that if even William Shatner would eventually get the joke about himself (and subsequently gain new celebrity once he relaxed) this guy would realize what a joke he is. Go be big in Europe.

I wet the bed once, but never in the bookstore after passing through security.

Seriously, WHY did they have to report that? Wasn't he humiliated enough as it was? Now the whole world knows that this happened.

Because while Hasselhoff was merely drunk, the press is evil...

A college buddy of mine had that problem - but he had to drink a prodigious amount first. Something on the order of six pitchers of beer.

But even he never pulled that stunt while conscious. He lost control when he was passed out - usually on a couch that we'd force him to clean.

Not even close. But he and I helped each other up the steps and made it home in one piece. Fortunately, we both had somebody waiting to pick us up at the airport, because neither one of us was in any condition to drive.

My father was also an alcoholic. 24/7. I was put in a foster home because he would rather buy for his drinking buddies than buy groceries for his kids.

If you are a celebrity, don't do something embarrassing in Britain. Their tabloid press will eat you alive! They have no shame.
