That's right, and if you look back what I said was that the Confederate Flag was first politicized by the segragationist State's Rights Party in 1948 and then by Wallace in the 1960s... #349

in 1963 the Alabama National Guard was federalized to ensure that two black students who enrolled at the University of Alabama were allowed to attend. JFK did NOT force Wallace to make good on a campaign pledge to stand in the doorway of the school to block their admittance, nor did JFK write the speech Wallace gave for the TV cameras before standing aside and allowing the two black students to enter.

Finally to remove any doubt you might have about the casual relationship btween George Wallace, the Confederate flag, and segragation here is a portion of the Inaugeration speech he gave six months prior on the steps of the statehouse in Montgomery
