Your post #261 has me somewhat confused...what exactly are are you saying about the Baptists, and Methodists, and Jehovahs Witnesses and Roman Catholics?...I know you are saying that they all claim to hold the truth, are you disputing what they teach as regards Creation/Evolution, or just disputing what they teach in general?
I mean, I am sure that they each have their own religious doctrines which may or may not disagree completely with the others...not just about Creation/Evolution, but also on a whole host of other matters...
But I would think that each of the religions that you mentioned, also believe and teach the very same thing which you mentioned, that "You matter to God. He died for you"...I should think this is a prominent teaching in all those religions you mentioned, regardless of their stand on the evolution/creation debate...
They don't agree on that. The LDS (Mormon) say that we all began as a finite number of created beings. They have lots of bablies so they can have as many of those souls as possible. They have a baptism for your dead Uncle Charlie, the child molester, and special underwear for your temple ceremony if youpay the right money. They promise the opportunity to rule your own universe. Where is evolution in that theory?
How about the RC church? They promise adherence to their churches doctrines is sufficient to make it into heaven. If you pray enough times to mary, and recite the Lord's prayer while handling beads, then you can get absolution from your sins. Do they accept evolution? They certainly accept a Papcy crowned with all sorts of sordid past events. How anybody can think their house is in order, I will never understand. Can anybody say "pedophilia"? How about torture and such? Oh, they are more enlightened these days, aren't they? They got another update from God.
no, they do not all teach the same. Some of them are just like rat poison: 90% food and grain, 10% deadly chemicals. You get to take in a lot of good stuff that will kill you deader than dead.
