Congratulations to Germany.

The goalie did an excellent job.

Bit unlucky for the Argies to lose their starting keeper but that's why you carry more than one in the squad.

Maradona is probably going to go on a big-time coke binge now.

Agreed.

They seriouuly annoyed me in the second half, and made me want them sent back to Buenos Aires as soon as possible.

Well, we are one step close to a Germany-England final :-)

'Argies deservedly going home.'

Er, no. They were the best team in the competition. The cheating, diving Krauts can't go home as they are already home. But they should certainly have lost.

Fortunately, England will have an easier final now, unless the Mafia-backed Italy side engages in more match fixing.

That clown makes me sick. I hope we've seen the last of his histrionics in the stands. People compare him to Pele and I double over with laughter.

bah,

they probably faked that as well, just to waste some more time.

I agree that they have at times been the best team in the Cup.

That is exactly why I was so annoyed by their Italy impersonation in the second half.

Cynical, cheating, cowardly.

With their talent, they should have gone for the second goal and secured the match.

Their loss.

'Cynical, cheating, cowardly. '

I agree with this critique of Germany's performance.

LOL ! He was last seen speeding from the stadium in a cab toward the "wrong side of town".

Bear in mind that I'm an ignorant American but how is what they did "cheating"? Sounds like they were running out the clock as in American football. Thanks.

Yes, Argentina was doing the soccer version of the "Prevent Defense." And as we all know the only thing that it prevents is winning.

True. On offense, in American football, you just run the ball instead of passing in to not stop the clock on an incompletion. We (Auburn) do that quite a bit with much success. I do hate the prevent (rush 3) defense though.....

Germany are a sickening team. Now we face the specture of such a pile of old pooh getting to the final two World Cups running.

It's hard to know who to hate more - Germany or Italy. Hopefully, the underdogs of Ukraine can sneak into the final instead.

Faking injury is not allowed and is bad form. If you want to run out the clock, try to pass the ball around the defense or something like that instead.

Diving in order to get a penalty is also cheating.

That said, Ballack did the same thing in the Argentinian box.

Germany in their 15th penalty shoot-out of which they've won...14. Not bad!!

You around for England/Portugal?
