I didn't catch that part of Greta last night, but good for Mrs. Finnerty for responding. Colin had permission from the court to be away from home.

I still can't stand that dreadful Meadow woman. And I think it's hilarious that Nifong released her cell phone number.

Looks like it was part of a series in September, although I couldn't find what year-- http://www.thetimesnews.com/power_brokers/index.php

Thanks...I went back to the page and double checked. Missed it-I hate it when that happens.

I can take the tin foil off now, it was getting hot anyway.

"It ended up the jury hung up, which was the best thing that could have happened to Durham," Allen said. "You could just feel the emotions in the courtroom down there, the hatred."

BTW, it's one hell of a find. It makes a good argument for change of venue-- especially in light of the threatening language directed at Reade Seligman.

I wish we had an erase button on FR. Push one key and my dumb as rocks moments just vanish!

I'm not gonna fault someone who thinks like I do.

Once again, the folks at FR have uncovered more information about the Duke scandal than most of the reporters covering the case. It all ties together ....

Forget it! I might have just glossed over it had it not been for the bolded excerpt from Mad-Margaret's 311, which I think is the first mention of it on the thread. This should get to the blogs, IMO.

Absolutely it should go to the blogs. The one supporting the players would be a good start. Can't remember its name. But I don't think any of the TV shows will touch it. JLS is the one who put it all together.

Ok, I am starting a thread on CourtTV, "Did Nifong learn his MO from Stephens?"

PS, clearly someone who I did not ask if I could name them sent me the article I noticed the mention of the Seagroves case. They deserve much of the credit for finding that article.

I sent the article about Judge Allen to the owner of Friends of Duke University blog. That's the new blog replacing Friends of Duke Lacrosse:

Friends of Duke University will be used for continued discussions on the Duke Lacrosse Scandal. All past discussions on the Duke case has been transferred to the new site and the new site is up and operational! You may access it using the link below.

And I see that you've already attracted an idiot who insists that "justice" will only be served if this case goes to trial. (sigh...)

Hearing on lacrosse subpoenas set

DURHAM -- Lawyers trying to quash subpoenas Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong issued to Duke University soon will have their day in court.

Nifong scheduled a July 3 hearing on the issue Tuesday, indicating he would fight to keep the subpoenas alive so he could glean potentially critical information in the Duke lacrosse rape case.

In the May 31 subpoenas, Nifong demanded that Duke turn over the home addresses of 47 lacrosse players and two other students. He also asked for identity-card data that could track their whereabouts around the time of the alleged sexual assault on the night of March 13-14.

Nifong said Tuesday that many of the 49 students presumably live out of state and might be hard to find when a trial rolls around, perhaps next spring.

"Any of these people could potentially be a witness at trial," Nifong added. "We have asked for their home addresses just in case."
