The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Yeah. I haven't read up on how you do that just yet, but it looks a lot like the farrier forum so I'll bet it works the same. There's some REALLY cute pictures over there. You gotta submit the one of Pony scratching her butt. That's my all-time favorite. I've still got it as the wall paper on my desktop. You've got tons of shots what would be good for the Liberty category and a whole bunch that would fit in the Artsy category too.

The main thing is improvement and not letting it get you down. You schedule that fishing trip yet?

Yes but they are better off with her. I know she will take good care of them. They have been two of the most playful I have ever raised. Both also learned to play fetch so Frog will have her hands full with those two.

Just sometime in OCT so far. My Dr informed me that I need to take the flu shot before I go. There is still a lot of debris and dead things from the high water.

It was much better before the casinos moved in. Kinda slow sleepy and laid back then. Guess the good old days are gone.

I sometimes would get a sleeper and take the train. I would turn the light out and it was like camping out. So peaceful and pretty. Esp thst stretch coming out of LA. The trees...They were every where.

Many years ago I worked with a heavy metal rock band, all girls. They had a New Years eve gig there at a hard rock bar on the coast. As we drove up into the sandy parking lot a few chickens were scratching and pecking in the sand. The girls were disappointed and thought it was a good ol'boys place. After they got set up and started playing, there was no disappointments then. That place rocked with the best of them.

I haven't been on a train since the sixties. Rode one from the middle of Montana to Minneapolis St Paul, where I caught a plane. It was winter and lots of snow but the scenic car was great.

An old indian and I sat together most of the way. He had lots of indian tales to tell and I enjoyed hearing them. The funniest one was of an indian that bought his first car back in the 1920s. The first thing he did was to drive the car to a general store for supplies. There were a couple of elderly white men sitting on the bench out front. The indian wanted to impress the old guys that he knew something about cars. So he opened the hood of the car, stuck his hand onto the motor and grabbed ahold of the coil wires. His braided pig-tails stood straight up and the shock knocked him backwards. The two old white men were impressed..... : )

LOL! No, she was not in it. I first met Frog back in college. I would bet that she would not have weighed 100lbs soaking wet. She was slim with long dark hair and cute as a button. She was dating a frat brother of mine. He and Frog broke up and eventually both married someone else.
