This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Oh - forgot to mention here... when we were taking a break at that spot, a woman ~jogged~ by... about 5 miles out on trail. That's humiliating :~D
I really like the one that is second from the bottom. It looks almost fake. The trail is so smooth, and clear, and then all the stuff growing in such straight edges along the sides....

Gonna be in the 90s today... the weather people are issuing heat advisories and health warnings :~D
You know... people laugh at us wilting in the heat, but we're not as well prepared for it as hotter climates... we don't have any air conditioning in a lot of cars, let alone in most homes.
We do OK here in the shade. and this super high heat isn't supposed to last after today... we're supposed to go back to a nearly perfect 70-80 range. My life today will revolve around laundry.

Yes, she does... she lays in the sun and gets all hot... then she overheats and pants and resents me if I spray her with the hose :~D
The Green Corn Festival pics were great. The ones of Big Mac and all the guys sitting around in front of the building was funny. Didja tell 'em they looked like a buncha ol' farts sitting around the general store spittin' cussin, and gossiping? LOL!
I ended up not going to our Keller Festival. I kinda hated to miss it, but I got my husband started on my cross fencing project to keep Tennessee off the pasture and that was way more important in my book. Maybe next year.
If you like LOST, then check out this website. It's the best one I've found. The forum is good and I especially like the 'Investigations' section where they post screen caps of all kinds of stuff that you might have not caught as it was playing live...

Great show pics Duchess. I had been wondering how Bob was doing and was glad to hear that he felt ornery enough to insist on going to the show. Sounds like he's back to his old self again, although him getting knocked down and Tracey getting kicked doesn't sound like all that much fun. It goes with the territory I guess. I sprained my left ankle real bad yesterday morning getting ready to go riding, but I went anyways. I guess figured as long as I could get on my horse one way or another, it wasn't gonna keep me from going.
