This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I'd love a storm to keep the dust down anyway :~)
But I spose it just looks like more humidity to you!
I can't believe any horse person would leave a stall not cleaned, ESPECIALLY, when the rakes and wheel barrows are provided...That is just as rude as you can get...
Becky
Cement:\...geez, that is pretty...uuummmm....stupid. Probably some body, sitting in an office who has never been on a horse, made that decision.

I'd bring stall mats or the mats out of the trailer, and put those down... but they're so dang heavy to move around. Some people bring and put shavings down, but that's not enough. Most people just don't use them now, except as a place to put them to groom and tack up.
There is always those few that spoil it for everyone. Makes me wonder would they put their horse in a dirty stall? I wouldn't.
Love the pictures. ;) Great looking horse and riders. What is he a smokey black?
Did you get any rain today? We just had a nice rain here, that actually may be enough to green the yard up a bit anyway. Of course the humidity is going up, up, up.

That might can be arranged. It's the weekend before I leave going to Colorado but I don't think I have anything planned. This coming Saturday I've got to go pick up some more hay, if I don't manage to do it after work this week, and on Sunday I've got to go pick up Hope from the trainer's place. He said she was really doing good and her gait was about as good as Bob's, so maybe I'll bring her. I'll be really interested to see how she does. One thing's for sure, she'll go anywhere you point her once he's done with her.
That's my horse Bob. He's a blue roan. Here's another pic of him, taken last year but he looks the same...
I sure like his color:)

Not a friggin' drop.
OOHHHHH, I'm sorry.
I thought from the radar map, you might have got some.

Alison didn't get hi-point after all. The point keeper didn't realize she showed 2 horses at the show (PJ & Andy). That's ok, she still did very well.
Zoomed in on some wild turkeys in my neighbor's back yard yesterday. A few little ones in that group
They are headed down the trail, that I mowed.
Wild turkeys are cool! Gobble gobble!
I've seen them in AZ, but we don't have those here.
Sorry to hear things didn't quite work out for Allison with the high point award.
We dropped Deuce off yesterday at the Equine Specialty Hospital. Couldn't be more impressed with the facility or staff. Spoke with Dr. Jackson yesterday after he had scoped Deuce and the mass has grown to the size of a golf ball. Prognosis is very good but there is some concern over removing a mass that size. He's going to start with an endo loop but there is a possibility he may have to do a second procedure later in the week with a laser. He doesn't want to chance the removal not being able to actually retrieve all of the mass out of his throat and the horse choke on it.
Expecting a call from Dr. Jackson later in the day with a post surgical update.
Oh - prayers up for you and Deuce.... let us know when you hear after the surgery!
Thank you! I was a terrible nervous wreck yesterday but talking with the dr. really helped.
I don't care if I'm on the phone with our company president when he calls to update me...I'll be hanging up the business phone and picking up the cell phone!
Hoping everything comes out well:)

Just in from my ride. Celia came and rode today. She left Stormy here and is coming back tomorrow afternoon. We didn't ride as much as I would have liked, but we were on a time restraint, she had to go to work.
