The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

You don't have any ponds closer?

Looks like Cindy isn't adjusting to our heat very well. Shame, when she just went and bought that land for her new home too.

Sure, my BIL still has a plane but I prefer to drive and take my time. Also wish to stay a few days when I get there. Have made plans to return this Fall when it is a little cooler.

Thanks, I will this time. Tried the last time but after seeing so many empty concrete slabs where a house used to be, I set the camera down. Kinda overwhelming so I bought a locally made video/DVD instead. It was made by a local tv station. They pointed a video camera out the window and drove down Hwy90. Just miles and miles of concrete slabs and demolished buildings.

The last time I went out with these guys we fished all day in an open boat. Not a good idea when it is hot summer weather. : )

Just had to share my Starbucks Frappuccino with these kittens.

Darn cats........

I buy them at the grocery store every now and then. One or two at a time is not too expensive and they are delicious.

Yes, in the coffee dept. Just put them in the refrig and drink it cool. Tastes great on a hot day. You may have to buy a case or two for your horse though.............

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I'll check it out. No caffeine for the kids until I'm done for the day though:')

I like coffee but don't drink much anymore. This tastes good every now and then. Caffeine has the same effect on kittens as it does on kids. They climb the walls.

Used to ride with a guy that fed his horse lots of sweetfeed. That horse had enough energy to climb walls or a tree. It never dawned on him that all that energy came from the feed he was giving his horse. I prefer a balanced feed that does not energize them. When my horse was younger it would dance sideways the first few miles, ready to go. Of course when the ride was over you almost had to push it into the trailer because it was so worn out.

Not a drop of rain out of those clouds. Some thunder and lightning and lots of humidity, that's about it. We have another shot tomorrow, though. Everybody pray.

They really screw you on drinks and food at the zoo, especially the drinks. I'm surprised they don't charge you to use the toilet.

They charge per car now too. What's up with that? We have reserved and free here. I have zoo passes so I don't have to pay but there I had to park in the no ding zone. I was disappointed. It was too comercial and not how I remembered it.
