This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Oh bugger, cjshapi, I'm so sorry. Is there any way that could have been a false positive on the second lab? And where did the two labs get sent to?
"Thanks, but I do not read much anymore. Like to look at the pictures though.........."
LOL
The woman who wrote this book is Liv Tyler's mother, the girl who played Arwen in The Lord of the Rings. Poor girl has got to be mortified by her mother's behavior. I'm surprised the woman got off her back long enough to write the book.
I don't have the name of the labs but I'm going to follow up with that. The vet was driving when he made the call and the reception was iffy at best.
The interesting this is that I have a very good friend with the disease Scarcoidosis. He's been fighting this thing for 10 years. The granulomas that have appeared in his body are diagnosed as being the exact same type. All have been benign. As he said, chances are huge that it is benign but these cells sometimes get angry when they are disturbed so I suspect I'll have an annual scoping done to make sure all is okay.

We are getting a little bit of rain this morning...I don't think it's enough to really help, but it's nice to hear thunder.
Becky
Didn't remember who Arwen was but she is pretty plus she can ride a horse. : )
That rain is supposed to drift down here this evening but I'm not holdin' my breath.
Got rain here last night and it is raining again this morning. It is light rain but still glad to see it.
I don't remember what state you're in?
I found it, Alabama.
Close to Frog and I hope she got plenty of rain too.
When is the last time that you've had rain? And I mean a good rain.
Oh dear cjshapi!
Was the second opinion an actual second test, or just a cautionary second reading of the original information? I hope for the best for you and Deuce.
Liv's dad is Steven Tyler from Aerosmith... I don't know if she's easy to shock at this point :~)
Do you want the book? I'm going to toss it in the trash when I'm finished with it if no one wants it.
I picked the book up because I'm a Todd Rundgren fan. I wonder how he feels about having such personal, intimate information written down for the whole world to see. Can't imagine that steven tyler would care.
It's been years. We've had little rains here and there but not near enough to help this drought. My parents have some friends that finally had to sell their entire herd of cattle. They couldn't afford to feed them anymore.
Heh... No - I'll take your word for it on the book :~) I've read enough Erica Jong I can go back to if'n I want raunchy :~)
I read you post about the seriousness of the drought... I sure sympathize, I complain about wet, but I don't like dry.
We don't ever seem to have an even amount of rain, it's always feast or famine. I don't see how alot of the horse breeders are staying in business. Costs a ton to feed the herd and nobody around here is buying much, they don't want to feed them, either. Good time to buy, though. Get some good horses cheaply right now.
If you do a google image search on BeBe Buell, you'll see some pics on this moron. More than half the book is Buell describing herself as beautiful, she looks like a painting, all men want to do her, they all get noticibly aroused as soon as she walks into a room. I've met narcissitic people in my time but this doofus takes the cake.
