The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Hmm. I am about 13 hours from Houston, that would be quite a haul down there, 20 hours. Guess I will stick with Kissemme FL or South Carolina. Always looking for good places to go camping/riding.

I hope that you have a great ride, Cindy! And remember the pictures. Are you bringing both of your horses, or just one?

I'm planning on taking them both. They do good together.

She just didn't want to hear it from you, it seems. You made a lot of sense and a good post. Trouble maker, I don't think so. She just wanted to hear from the "boys".

Well, one of the "boys" is making it a lot more complicated than it needs to be, with all this psychological separation and bonding stuff. She just needs to take some action when her horse gives her crap.

You could always break it up and stop at a horse hotel. I have a lot of places I want to go but I don't want to pull a trailer a long time anymore so that is what I was thinking about. What would be good I think is if there were reasonable rates for transporting by air. Just think. You could have a horse anywhere in just a few hours:')

We need to get a new truck before we even think about going to far! Our poor old '91 Silverado has 234,000 miles on it. We have had to replace the clutch times and right now are looking at leaking axel seals.

It wears me and the horses out. I need a better trailer for long distances for them, I think. If they ever come up with a horse winabago I'm getting one:')
