This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Well THAT sucks! I'd definately get a lock for the shop and the trailer. It's a real pain that you have to do that but if you don't, the little buggers will eventually steal you blind. I hate it for you about the trouble on the trails too. People like that really DO ruin things for everybody, and they don't care. They'll just find some place else to tear up. The little Bastids! ;o)
Make him carry his own. That might slow him down too.
LOL...good idea:)
Becky
I'm wondering how many smaller tools are gone, that we've just thought we misplaced..
Becky
There's no telling. If your place is anything like ours, there's crap laying all over the place and any one piece of it being gone would never be noticed until way after the fact. Didn't you say something a couple of months ago about some disturbance going on outside your house in the middle of the night?
Spotted over northern Nevada somewhere.... SuperTweek :~)
LOL!!! Pretty cool cat there! Photoshop looks like a lot of fun.
LOL - That's what I saw overhead this weekend. Tell her next time she takes a trip, stop in and visit :)
Fun or not, she's got no business straying that far from home :~)
I'm back to thinking about ordering that 2nd strap again or carrying my step stool around with me. I don't know how Becky and yall do it. I just can not get on from the ground.
Aw, why bother, just buy a shorter horse.......... : )
I'm almost at pony size now.
How about switching to a cart pulled by your horse? You could carry a cooler on back and have an umbrella overhead if you wanted.
We've had a lot of trouble with our trails too with four wheelers, dirt bikes and houses being built.
I have several friends that use a stool or fence to mount, the only problem is if you have to get off when you're out riding, you can't get back on unless you find a low spot or a log or rock.
Nah. It's safer on a horse that behind one.:') I have a story to tell you about carts though but not now.
All you need is a male horse and an Amish emergency brake.
(an old joke)
Not even gonna go there lol
