The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Good Morning.

The halters are really nice. The pictures are really cool. Quite a change in Country for you, Becky.

Going to get my hitch put in my truck finally. My niece is getting married tonight out of town. I will not be home in the morning to ping. The weather has been nice, so I might be able to make it to the fair tomorrow afternoon. Alison is showing in Leadline. Have a good weekend.

Morning. Take us pics of Alison. Today is the day. I couldn't completely do it but this is my last full day of work. It may be midnight before I finish up but as of tomorrow I'm semi-retired. I'll still be working two days a week but I can live with that:')

Good luck on the land, make sure you have water on it even a well is good.

Been a dry summer here and not much hay to cut this year. Hope Frog is able to fill her barn.

Barbaro Is Doing Much Better This Morning

By RICHARD ROSENBLATT,

AP Racing Writer 1 hour ago

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. - Barbaro was doing "much better" Friday morning, a day after his veterinarian said the Kentucky Derby winner was a "long shot" to survive a potentially fatal hoof disease.

"He had a good night last night, and even slept on his side," Dr. Dean Richardson told The Associated Press early Friday before re-entering the George D. Widener Hospital for Large Animals to check again on the 3-year-colt. "He's doing much better."

There's a nice field of bermuda right down the road from the barn that has been cut in the last day or so and my FIL is going to get in touch with the guy and get me about 35 rolls of it. That should take care of me until next year. I bought 35 rolls last year and still have 10 or so left, but we also had a 8 or 10 rolls left over from the year before that and the mares finished them off this year. So 35 rolls ought to be about right.

Amazing to see Becky in your environment! LOL!!

And Becky, your hair *has* gotten long...even since the last time I saw you in Albertsons!

I started taking some high powered vitamins. My fingernails grow now too:). I had tried to let my hair grow several times, but I could never hold out past that icky stage. It grew past that without me even noticing. I'm thinking the vitamins.

Good for you. Most fields this summer only have about half the hay they normally have. We have hay left over too and with what we get this year, hopefully make it thru the winter.

The manx kittens are still here but only one at a time can fit into the gallon milk pail now. They are growing like weeds. : )

Well, up there at least you don't have to worry about trying to beat the heat of the day when you're going trail riding. Down where Becky and I live, if you don't get going by 8am this time of year you'll be feeling like you're in Death Valley by the time you get back to the trailer in the afternoon. Y'all have a good ride!

Every picture of me , I'm checking out the trees:) They are incredible.

Look at the size of this one.

Looking up at it.

You went over the bridge:'). I don't think I have ever seen trees that big. Maybe when I was a kid. I didn't finish up but I brought work home with me because I was hoping there was pictures.
