This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Good morning :~)
~sip~
Nobody up but me :~) And these kittens. It was about 1 before we went to bed, and I was still fairly keyed up, don't know if Becky slept or not!
Flying can wear you out, I know it does me. You guys will have a wonderful time.
Well, I'm late to the fair as usual, but I like Photo No. 1 best. It makes her topline look nice and straight and very well muscled - in the second pic she's sagging a little. I know the second pic looks more relaxed, but if I were buying a horse I would be more attracted to No. 1. But that's probably because I do combined training, and after a lot of dressage work we WANT our horses to look like No. 1 . . .
This is SO cool! You'll have to fill us in on the details of how you met up at the airport and stuff. I ASSUME you took pics of it all?! ;o)
I think you're refering to the pics I posted of my filly Hope. If not, then 'scuse me for butting in.
Would you believe I haven't taken ~one~ picture?
I don't know what's come over me. We should have taken pictures just now, Becky brought this vibrating bug massager and we took it out to see if Bay would stay on the ground when I turned it on. :~) It wasn't ~too~ scary.
We're going to go out for a big truck stop breakfast, then we'll be back to play with horses, and there will be pictures.
Becky brought us all brand new halters with the horse's names on them! I can't put them on our dirty horses though, there will have to be baths first :~)
Hey mom. Glad you made safe.:) How was your flight?
What do you have planned for today?
If anyone is interested, I grabbed this latest update on Barbaro, I think that nothing much has changed, but the article was dated today:

They haven't axed me yet:) The trees are incredible, pictures just won't do it, but I'll take some anyway.
How's Susie:)? WE are heading for breakfast.
Becky
Hey, Jen:)
The plane ride was wonderful, I made my mind up I was going to enjoy it and I did.
From Dallas to Washington, I had "several" babies around me...They weren't to bad, but they were babies.
How's the shop going. We are heading to breakfast now, then we'll come back and maybe ride just around here.
I'll talk to you later.
Becky
While you guys head off to breakfast, I'm going to head off to lunch! :-D Enjoy!
WHAT!!! You didn't take pictures, you didn't????
That was you and your filly . . . sorry!
I agree w/ whoever said something about the background. We usually stand them up against a plain barn wall and have somebody off camera hold a long lead line (and toss straw in the air and make funny noises.) If you have a horse that's dead calm, it's hard to make them pick up their ears and look interested . . .
Butt ins are always welcome! I appreciate the input. I would have liked to have taken her picture in front of a better background, but since I'm always by myself and don't have anybody to hold her and make her stand there, I have to do the best I can and tie her to the trailer, since it is at least out in the sun. One of these days, when I'm not borrowing barns, I'm going to set up a good place to take pictures.
WHAT?!?!
I simply can't believe that. ;o)
...Becky brought this vibrating bug massager..
LOL!! You're not going to believe what I first thought you said.
HAHAHA! We still haven't taken any! We'll get right on it, we're gonna get around to horsing here soon :~)
Hey, mom. Glad you enjoyed your flight.
Take lots of pictures for us. BTW, did Travis give you our camera?
They kinda ran into a snag with the water line, but it's fixable. I'm going to go hand up the pictures this evning after Travis goes to work.
Have a good day, I'll check in later this afternoon.:)
