The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

My paint is like that. All you can see at night is his white areas and it's like he floats.

Update! They changed their mind, I guess, on which way to route her around that thunderstorm.

Every time I have flown to Dallas there has been bad weather. I think a storm just sits over the airport:')

She's landed now, in Dallas, several minutes ago. She had to circle around a bit over Dallas, but arrived relatively on time. I bet it was a bumpy flight, with those thunderstorms around, and it's hot in Dallas, she might be re-thinking the wisdom of this trip :~D. Has an hour and 50 minutes or so until she departs again.

When you're driving along at dusk, and catch those floaty white parts out of the corner of your eye, it's pretty disconcerting until your brain catches up.

I haven't seen that but I've had to find mine in the pasture , in the dark before. I don't know which is spookier. Him floating around everywhere or the dark ones I don't see, until they are within touching distance. It feels like a 1000 eyes on you though. Watching.:')

That's normal. She's on Texas time now. Delays are the norm.

The white headed lady I was talking about was due about 6pm. I was taking her to dinner at 7. I fed her about 10 and then took her to the 24 hour Walmart around midnight for necessities. She was coming from some place called Orange County and almost didn't get out of Houston before the last flight. Her bags didn't make it.

She said it was bumpy going into Houston but loved flying over the ocean (gulf) at night and seeing Padre Island. (they all say that).

When you said Orange County, I assumed Southern California, and I thought the pilot must have been a little lost to be over the gulf on the way to your house :~D

We only have direct flights to Houston, SA and Austin. I think SW has one direct to Dallas. That's about it. Most come thru Houston.
