PITTSBURGH (June 12, 2006) -- Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger, the youngest quarterback to lead a team to the Super Bowl championship, broke his jaw and nose in a motorcycle crash in which he was not wearing a helmet.
Four doctors operated on Roethlisberger for seven hours to treat multiple facial fractures and "all of the fractures were successfully repaired," Dr. Harry W. Sell, chairman of the surgery department at Mercy Hospital, told reporters.

Wait...I just heard on the radio that Arafat is dead. Gotta go post it....
LOLOLOL
That has NOTHING to do with the fact that he took his $40 million butt out on 2-wheels without a helmet and got crunched.
Life has just shown him that in spite of all the caution the motorcyclists take that they are hard to see sometimes, even when coming at you.
Most drivers are under the impression that it doesn't take you as long to brake, when in fact it takes longer for a bike to break because of the smaller surface area of the tire to the road.
He fell for the "classic" bs about bikes.... they're safe as long as I'm careful.... well any comments about Terry Bradshaw being the dumbest quarterback the Steelers ever had are now laid to rest.
This guy was a frickin retard.... an immature psuedo-cool guy.
If he needs a bike to "be cool" or demonstrate his "freedom".... well don't puss out Ben... get back on your bike after your released from the hospital...bwahahahahhahaa.
Young guy, that made money starts to believe his own BS.
I have a vague recollection of one of the Pittsburgh Pirates being interviewed on a sports talk show shortly after Thurman Munson's plane crash saying that he could not fly without team permission....I realize it would be difficult for the team to monitor such activity....although if a player in breach of his contract were to be caught in the act...I suppose he could be docked pay...this is a heck of a way to be caught in the act though...
It just highlights the incredible risk of putting your billion dollar franchise in the hands of a twenty four year old. Being considerably older, it is literally stunning that somebody who had an entire city on his shoulders would be this reckless.
How tiring it is to see news items posted multiple times.
Hope you are doing OK RBA, miss seeing you around.
