Let's hope this isn't the deciding goal.

I really think it should have stood. The goalie rushed out, flapped like a bird, and bumped into the Japanese player, who was playing the ball. Two field players, it wouldn't have been a foul. The Aussie keeper came out too. If the Japanese player had run down the keeper it would have been a clear foul.

It's really a judgement call on this one. If I was the ref, I would have allowed the goal, and prepared for years of hate mail from down under.

Schwarzer stuffed up but there was a foul there. Really hard to call this one. Let's hope The Duke can put 2 in.

Well, the majority of the German team is around 6'3" or 1.90 meters. But you're right, 6'8" is immensely tall, not only, but especially, for a soccer player.

Usually, the ESPN announcers are clueless, but they are correct on Australia's play here. You have big target men, and your choice is to dribble the ball up the middle, over and over and over again.

They could play hoofie ball, or go to the wing for the crosses, but this strategy they are playing is stupid.

Agreed.

I would have liked to see Kewel and Emerton get around on the edges.

BUT GOOOOOOOALL

Come on now.

Onwards towards the winner!

phew. I was starting to worry too. Still, think Aussies will be disappointed with a draw.
