Dawn finally got in yesterday evening after several delays and reschedulings of her flight. Our 60% chance of rain, fortunately, didn't pan out today. We spent the day in Branson, mostly on Tyler's agenda. We did the Titantic museum, the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, the Toy Museum and the Hollywood Wax Museum. Whoever heard of a 9-year old who, given the option, prefers a day of museums to a day at an amusement or water park? Go figure. We also ate obscene amounts of food...for which I am experiencing considerable guilt at this point.
Great to hear from you Westy!
Doggie isn't the big wedding this weekend?
Libby, sounds like you're having a busy vacation with the kids. Don't get too "fat" now...;)
Ah, There you are. I was wondering...
Watch out for those thunderstorms. We've had some bad ones down this way. Three people in the area were killed this week by lightning and a local airport was hit twice in 1 week. The first time it struck the main runway and made such a hole they had to close the runway for several hours while it was repaired. Then late yesterday afternoon, lightning struck a bank of ten transformers at the airport, putting out all the runway lights. They had to cancel/divert about a dozen or so flights last night. This morning eight outbound flights were cancelled either because crews were still working on the problem or because the flight crews and equipment were not able to land last night. Airport says the strikes on and near the runways have been pretty unusual since there is a 20'- 34' radar tower that would make a more likely target on the airport's property.
