...She sits there so refined
And drinks herself half blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost...her...mind...
at the Copa, Copacabana
the hottest spot north of Havana...

I was enjoying some Bar in my home yesterday, and it's true: there wasn't a single hooligan around.

Just the threat of Barry Manilow works on me. I mean, look how far I am from Sydney!

Now that we've taken care of the hooligans, what will we do about the rootless cosmopolitans?

I liked Barry, back in the 70's, "Mandy" was my favorite. I also liked Aerosmith, The Who and Wings....Go figure.

Barry has made some good songs, not entirely my cup of tea all the time, but he's had some hits. His music certainly has it's place.

...what will we do about the rootless cosmopolitans? Play some military marches or oompah music? BUT... ...this would be too much since in this case I wouldn't be able to enter this park either. ;-)
To: Millee
Jeez, Barry looks like Ralph Macchio on that cover!

Sweet picture of you!
Besides - Instead of playing Barry Manilow I would have kicked into the a** of these youngsters. Anyway - other countries other attitudes.
To: Atlantic Bridge
LOL. I had just gotten my haircut. I'm glad you noticed. :O)

some people living near the park are less than enthralled.
They say the barrage of Copacabana, Could It Be Magic and Que Sera Sera, blasting from 9 p.m. to midnight every Friday, Saturday and Sunday is driving them crazy.
"I don't know how I will cope," said Moya Dunn, describing how the songs have invaded her house. "I just can't sleep when it's on, and to think there's going to be another six months of this."
In a move reminiscent of U.S. efforts to drive former Panama strongman Manuel Noriega from the Vatican Embassy where he took refuge in 1989...
