bokken project update: a brief note on the tsuba (guard)
the oval for the hilt is FINALLY finished. the two images below give the "start" and finish. there are many more images of the process, which I'm too lazy to upload right now.
the current weight of the guard is 7.4oz
the target weight is a mere 5.2oz
the difference is a total of 2.2oz
I can now plan out the geometry of the cutouts for weight reduction.
I intend to make several possible designs, and shall submit the 2D geometry plans to y'all for review and votes.
