Yep. I knew that much gaelic but it's good to let the unwary know when they are being snookered!

I saw a photo of the Scots Ben Lomond, and if you get the angle right, my Ben Lomond looks a good bit like the other...it was named because of that resemblance. Wonder if someone was homesick?

It's quite likely. There's a story we learned in Gaelic class from the time of the Clearances -- of a shipload of Gaels that burst into tears when they reached Nova Scotia, because it looked so much like home.

Funny. Right next to "my" Ben Lomond (where I started learning pipes, btw), on the top of the ridge/hill/mountain, was the community of Bonny Doon. But Doon is a river in Scotland.
