Here's an interesting tax proposal - the pimp tax:

Oh, dear. Don't let Kim know about it--he'll go mad!

It's getting hot here, too. But probably not as warm as in CA.

I don't think you guys ever see much above 90 do you?

Perhaps, though Santa Ana usually just brings fires to San Bernadino and surrounding areas. Humidity twenty or thirty miles inland, particularly in the desert, is just weird. I've just been baking in the sun, but I can't say that humidity's been a factor. Like "outsiders" say: it's a dry heat.

Allow me to introduce my Nom-de-Plume, Brian B. Hawthorne.

He is very much like me, but he writes less poetry.

Far Off Lands

In far off lands, and distant days,
The people live in different ways.
We may condemn, we may deplore,
But let us enter through their door,
And put on this a human face.
What would you do, if in their place?

Brian B. Hawthorne -- -- August, 2004

We might have had some radiating dry heat when it got over 100, but we've also had lots of humidity as well.

Depends where you are. If you're close to Lake Michigan, very rarely.

I see more 90's--the Lake effect doesn't go fifteen miles inland...

In the northern part of the state, it can get into the 90s and 100s in July/August. In the southern part, it can be in the 90s and up from May through September.

We usually go 65 in winter and about 92 when hot in the summer.

This has been excessive for us.

Yeah, it was the Brian Hawthorne thing that threw me off when I first came across the book.

Winter we see subzero temperatures, while the Lakeshore is about ten degrees warmer.

Summer, we've hit 100 once several years ago, IIRC. Otherwise, we usually will hit 95 at its hottest & stickiest.

Usually then this is followed by strong or severe thunderstorms.

I must have missed that in the grandiloquent KTLA weather spot. Death Valley's got nothing on us!

Wow, do you guys have parkas? Usually it's 80 in December south of Ontario.

"I hope the book is easier to order now. "

The link on my home page was broken for a while, and I didn't know it. But it still takes about ten days to get it.

I relented and paid the "Distribution Channel Access Fee," so it's still available.

It didn't say "NicknamedBob," so I got confused. ;)

I believe you've already met Grayson Nash.

"... threw me off when I first came across the book."

If I am informed correctly, there is at least one copy floating around in Iraq.

I would imagine it may have gotten a little worn by now.

Let's hope it doesn't end up in North Korea. Oh, what a fiasco that would be!
