The morning of the funeral, Angelina seemed a little more controlled, but still somber. ...
It was, as usual, a day of bright sunshine, but the wind seemed a little capricious, and ladies stood with their hands holding onto their hats. ...
For the most part, they just looked serious, rather than sad. ... This was a celebration of a life completed, after all.
It's the next part that gets a little tricky.
I dunno...............sounds a bit like an old Twilight Zone episode to me : )
I'll take that as a compliment.
Do you remember the Walter Matthau one? He had a trumpet.
Compare that episode to the beginning of "Dead Like Me."
Rod Serling was an incomparable genius. The echoes will reverberate for centuries.
It was.
"Rod Serling was an incomparable genius. The echoes will reverberate for centuries."
My favorite tv series of all time.
tsk! always a slave to fashion...
*hissing intake of breath*
bad pun.
baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad pun.
Sunday, Monday, Punday, ...
I'm just warming up.
Everyone is taller than me, so don't worry about it.
We've had temperatures in the 90's fairly steadily, with an occasional break in the 80's. Much better than Oklahoma, which often went a whole month in the 100's this time of year. Our flowerbed are looking nice: celosia reseeded itself last year and is coming up all over, and I put in bright orange lantana, which should be enormous next year. Even the parsley is flourishing. We've had a few tomatoes, too.
We've been going to the pool two or three times a week in the next subdivision over. The boys have made their Boy Scouts swimming qualification more easily this year. I've been sitting by the wading pool with the babies every time. The one occasion I was going to swim, had a bathing suit on and everything, a thunderstorm blew up before we got in the water!
Everyone seems to be hungry all the time here - I guess they're getting plenty of exercise! Vlad still eats all night (my little weight-loss aid), but he's so sweet I don't let it bother me.
Time to get organized for prayers, and then I need to run before we get too busy - missed it yesterday, so now I'm off-schedule.
3.1 miles at 6 mph. Yippee!
Sorry, I missed part of the conversation...
Running. You must have missed my regular running progress reports. I'm in Week 9 of "Yes, even you can be a runner, although I can't see why you'd want to," and I'm up to 5K.
It's easier on the treadmill than on the road, though, so I'm going to have to get my son to take me into the great outdoors eventually. In shorts and everything ... if it wasn't so hot, I'd run in a dress!
You did 3.1 miles in 18 minutes? Day-um... Excellent job. I haven't been able to run that far, much less that fast, since I was in the military.
Got my math wrong there didn't I... sorry... Brain ain't working today.
That would be 6 minute mile, not 6 mph, and it would be very impressive! I'm just aiming for steady movement :-). On my slower days, I average closer to 5.5 mph.
Well, it's Twosday today, so we're expecting a couple 'o puns from yew.
My best ever run times were in my second year of being in the Marine Corps. My best time on a 3 mile course was 17:40. Which was kind of ironic considering I was smoking about a pack a day by that point.
That's a pretty good time. It would win you some prizes in the smaller races around here.
That was 17 years and a lot of knee abuse ago.
