Well, "All You Zombies" is a classic. And I'm sure you liked "The Trouble With Tribbles."
I think it's fair to say you'll like "The Man Who Folded Himself."

You Are A Chestnut Tree |
You are a born diplomat with a well developed sense of justice. And even though you're impressive and intimidating, you're also fun to be around. You can be irritated easily, and you sometimes act superior. Nevertheless, you are sensitive of others feelings and very loyal. Sometimes you feel misunderstood and are fiercely close to those who know you best. |

Oops. You were referring to "The Door Into Summer."
Yes, I will say unequivocally that it is good. Vintage Heinlein, from a very good year. Very thought-provoking.

Yep. I knew. I don't think I ever read the Man Who Folded Himself, though. I do have a copy of Moonstar Oddyssey floating round here though...

Well, nobody was posting...Some days are just like that.
Did I ever tell you I designed a college level sophomore level science fiction course at the college I used to teach at? It even got approved by the curriculum committee...I was a big time sf nut growing up. But things happened and I didn't get my chance to teach it. Sigh. all those young fresh minds I could have corrupted...

You Know You're From... When...
You know, I looked up the Australian one of those and it was so full of bad words it'd probably have gotten me banned. So I decided not to bother! *wink*
For all that we supposedly have potty mouths here, though, my husband loves it. Miracle of miracles, he's sounding less "Nooo Yawwwk" by the day!
To: Knitting A Conundrum
Most assuredly I was a big-time Science Fiction nut too. But I never got the rounded-out exposure to all facets that would be required of a teacher.
Instead, I greedily consumed only that which was of interest to me -- which I thought was ... everything! Of coure it wasn't. The Science Fiction Universe is far too large for that to be possible, for anyone.
So I guess I specialized to some degree, favoring the hard science classics, and some odd filaments of distant adventure.
Of course there is no doubt that it affected me. My thought processes are ... quirky ... to this day.

Good evening. I just thought I'd stop by and say hi. :-)
To: FriendDownUnder; Knitting A Conundrum
I think I would need one of them titled "You Know You're From An Alien Planet When ..."
Yeah, that would be my speed.
They had a special on Superman tonight. Naturally, I thought, "Oh my god, another undocumented worker!"
Just doing the miraculous life-saving rescues that American Superheroes won't do ...

Doctor Miss Tulip, you sure do keep late hours these days.
Have you checked Winston's eyes to see if he's turning into a cave fish?
