Far as I'm concerned, all of those things were glorified apes. That's basically an ape's skull. Most likely gorillas and chimps survived and neanderthals and other hominids didn't because the gorillas and chimps were better adapted.

So even though neanderthals used self-made tools, took care of their wounded and handicapped and at least once buried dead with flowers, you still see them as apes?
If apes did the things neanderthals did I doubt they would be a delicatesse in Africa.
That looks nothing like an ape skull. It looks like a Neanderthaler skull, though. Far as I'm concerned, you don't know the difference.
If chimps are our next door neighbors as a species then Neanderthals are camping out on the front porch with a foot in the door.
