05/16/06 -- DURHAM) - The defense attorney for the third Duke player charged with raping an exotic dancer is speaking with Eyewitness News about the polygraph test his client took.

"We gave him one, two series of tests over a very long period of time, on one day, and he passed every single test," said attorney Joe Cheshire.
The first series were questions about any involvement Evans may have had in a sexual assault, with questions like:
# Did you physically assault the accuser?
# Did you sexually assault the accuser?
# Did you actively participate in the sexual assault of the accuser?
Evans responded "no" to those questions. Evans had to answer a second series were questions about whether he knew of a sexual assault that night. The April 21 exam took several hours.
"I passed it absolutely, and I passed that polygraph for the same reasons I will be acquitted of all of these charges," Evans said to reporters Monday.
