Perhaps it's the information Abrams was talking about - that the partial DNA was on the top of the fingernail, not under it, and not "tissue", such as the screaming duo of harpies, Wendy Murphy and Nancy Grace, are fond of screeching at the top of their lungs every time they're near a microphone.
