I was kidding, they had to pick Elvis songs. They picked them though, not Priscilla.

Actually the Christian music genre is very profitable.

Just read this on the AI board. Interesting. See what you think.

When you reach the top 3 (and 4) phone lines run at CAPCITY and here is why:

The max capacity for the best phone lines in America is 800cps (calls per second). If you do the math 770 calls per second, times 9 lines, times 60 seconds, times 60 minutes, times 2 hours equals just under 50million calls. We don’t know the number votes the previous week, so the previous example is calculated for the top 3. (The capacity of an average phone line can be easily verified with little effort on the reader’s part.)

So, it is not unlikely the average call per line was 770cps, because as we all know NOTHING works at capacity. This means you could have had several million calls not counted simply because the lines were running at full capacity for the entire 2 hours...this would account for everyone getting 33%. With 4 contestants, at full capacity, each one would receive 25% of the vote, which is probably why Chris went home. The BIGGEST mistake AI made was showing the 33% split….people have now figured it out.

It is ridiculous to assume everyone that voted liked each contestant equally and voted an equal number of times, resulting in everyone getting an near equal share of the votes…did American not like one contestant more than another. Shouldn’t the numbers been more like 45% 30% 25%???? The winner of the top 3 (and the top 4) was determined by a random anomaly in the processing of phone calls, and a few hundred thousand text messages (more on that later). As long as the phone lines are at capacity, it will be a coin toss…almost.

All text messages are counted, and because they work on a different system, capacity is never reached. All votes cast are held in cue, and ever vote that is cast in the 2 hours is counted. Cingular Wireless, may be the minority of calls, but because there is no capacity issue, they are the ones that decided who stays and who goes. All land line votes are equal, the total is effectively “0”…..then it is merely a few hundred thousand text votes that are counted.

Landlines can also be manipulated. For example…If I was a Kat fan I could call a Chris’ line, and vote, but not hang up….keeping other Chris fans from voting, while I TEXT my vote. This would slow down that rate of calls that could be made to Chris, while helping clear the lines for my Kat fans to call. This is not merely a theory, but has been suggested to certain “fans” in more than one blog.

AI if fully aware of this, and has had 5 years to deal with the issue. They have received thousand of emails and phone calls, and still do nothing to change it. They refuse to add additional lines, or limit the voting.

I'm a nutty Chris fan, so I don't really care who wins. I think Taylor has more talent, not necessarily raw talent, but he's more seasoned and all around entertaining. In a few years Kat may have achieved that. The thing is, I really don't care because I'll be listening to Chris's music. Taylor and Kat are kind of like background noise to me. I can make an analytical study, but can't connect to either one of them.

I'm not sure, but I see Mandisa going more mainstream Christian music than straight gospel. She's got the connections already.

Yeah, I read Kat fans are suggesting they do this to Taylor's lines.

The $$$$$$$$$ is in the text calls. Therefore no change anytime soon.

Tons of assumptions as to what Taylor was/is/will be thinking. And Taylor has already gotten his big berak. If he loses he'll be an enormous success. He already is.

It's kind of funny because they are casting votes for Taylor and the calls will disconnect within a few seconds after it ends. Typical mindset of manipulative teen girls. lol

Wrong. Prior to the final 2 (and even then) it works exactly like it. They tell you that you are gone not who of the final 5 is the winner. UNTIL THE FINAL TWO. It is exactly the same.

But he was right that it was a bad song for her, and she was also right to remind him that it wasn't her choice.

It was a bad song and she sang it very poorly. Her reaction is what caused someone here to tab her "McEntitlement."

I interpret "ego" as "I ain't singing no schlockey ballad." Not his style. He should sing it how he wants to sing it. That's like asking Celine Deion to sing Zeppelin.

BTW, I would say the same for Kat to have to sing a bluesy song or a rock song. If one of those two is going to be the winner, they should be given a song that fits their style.

I wonder why they do that if even the judges don't know?

Why would he have to know?

I read that she'd been doing a lot of auditioning for other things, like movie roles, but that her size was making it difficult for her to be cast.
