I think Taylor will not win. And life will go on and the show will go on. Everyone thought Bo would win the week before the finals. That didn't happen, either. I'm not even some rabid Kat fan or something. I wanted Chris to win.

Pity! He stands to be disappointed, after all the hundreds of thousands he has spent to make his daughter the American Idol.Sounds like Bo Bice fans last year. I don't even care who wins next week because Chris should be the one winning the show, but I honestly think Kat has a 75% chance of winning next week. Don't be shocked when it happens.

Either one is OK with me. But the ones who have the real careers will be Ace, Pickler, and Daughtry.

Do you think it was a valid criticism of her bad song choice when she didn't pick the song? I think Randy was just trying to find something to say without flat out telling her she was horrid.

There is a difference in how you react being told that "you won" versus "he lost". Not really. Taylor correctly knew that Elliott was no threat to his winning and reacted expectedly at discovering that at least one of his strongest rivals had been kicked off the show. Knowing that either Chris or Kat had been booted was the same as being told "you are in the finals"-- which is pretty damn close to being declared the winner of the whole shebang. Taylor is 29 or whatever. This show is his last chance to get his big break. And Elliott was thrilled that he had managed to beat the odds and outlast either Kat or Chris, something that seemed totally improbable.

I thought that was a funny and revealing moment. Randy has all these pre-programmed remarks and doesn't really think before he speaks. Here he was caught with his pants down, so to speak.
Kat was right for calling him on it.

And she pouted about it as if they had no right to criticize. She probably thought after her daddy went over and tongue lashed the judges before and made them apologize on air for voicing their opinions, that they would be afraid to do so again.

Read my Miss America example. I can't make it any simpler than that. AI doesn't work like the Miss America pageant. And that's why the analogy fails.

Next year, buy them in the pre-sale with the poptarts code (this year the password was "CRAZYGOOD"). I got 4 tickets for Birmingham, AL last Wed in the pre-sale.
If you have an Enay account, you could watch for IDOLS HERSHEY and see what shows up...

There is a difference in how you react being told that "you won" versus "he lost". Take a look at Miss America pagaents as an example. When the 4th runner up is named, the remaining do not jump up and down. Proper respects are paid. Then, when the winner is annouced, that person goes nuts. Subtle but very important distinction in the two reactions. That's a perfect example. When Taylor and Elliott are told that they are safe, no one has been eliminated yet. That information is still to come. So, they can rejoice and then show regret/sadness when the eliminated person is named later.

Kat was right for calling him on it.Totally agree. She *was* right about that. I think Randy was just caught up in critiqueing the song, and forgot for a moment that the Big Cheese had picked the wretched thing. Foot in mouth time for him! But he was right that it was a bad song for her, and she was also right to remind him that it wasn't her choice.

You can now place a bet on how many times Taylor will say "Soul Patrol" on Tuesday night!
I am thinking of placing a bet, as the payout is 4-1!
I am guessing he will say Soul Patrol just two times.
What do you think?

I cringed when Taylor did that. Just a pet peeve of mine I guess!
I used to hate it when the Williams sisters would do their crazy, on court celebrations before even approaching the net! :)
Of course it's fine to celebrate a victory. It's also good form to remember for a second that someone has lost. This, of course is JMHO.

No, No, and yes. Daughtry will do fine, as will Hicks. Paris eventually if she wants it. The rest will be footnotes.
