I liked Taylor from the beginning. Simon didn't want to put him through during the auditions but Paula and Randy out voted him.

I agree with you about Elliot. Besides, he appears to be such a sweet guy and he has a wonderful voice! I never understood the Sinatra thing with women! :-)

Elliott will always be a winner to me!

I think getting rid of the facial hair would help but I agree that he looks better now.
To: nycgal
I just couldn't figure Taylor out. The gray hair, the dancing, the harmonica.......what was that all about.
Now I know.....it's about soul!!!

I'm not going to patronize an entity that is merely contributing to the further destruction of the music industry.I have two twelve year old girls, and I thank my lucky stars that AI came along when it did to give them positive role models and decent music to listen to that they can connect to. Compared to the general level of the crap that is passed off as music today, all the idols soar.
And America is the group voting, not the AI producers. A number of you need to unwind the tinfoil- it is on a bit too tight and is interfering with your reasoning skills.

Taylor makes me smile. Katharine annoys me.
To: ken5050
she should have stood there, said "This is for all our brave troops, protecting our freedoms"..and sang "God Bless America"If she had done that, all the Kat haters would have just said she was a cold calculating manipulative b*tch that was using a patriotic song as part of her insidious plan to destroy American music.

Ooh thanks. You have just given me a nice avenue of interest to pursue.
About the JDRF. Let me say this, ok?
The best thing Elliott can do for the kids with diabetes is focus on a career while continuing to openly admit he has diabetes and, and, quit smoking.
He doesn't need to get sucked into all kinds of charitable things unless, perhaps, it is a concert and he gets PR out of it as well.
I know JDRF very well. They can play hardball with the best of them out there. They are well-organized and very political. And since diabetes in your child really levels the playing field, it is amazing how many big names are involved, but oh so quietly.
I strongly recommend that Elliott pursue something like benefit concerts which would also give him some publicity, and allow him to take advantage of free PR from JDRF.
If you are his friend you can help him to make good choices, no? A benefit concert is a win-win for both sides. But don't let JDRF eat him alive and keep him from that career, until he is no longer a household name, and thus less valuable as a spokesperson.

There was much more of that earlier in the season and I was (hanging my head in shame) just as guilty as anyone. BUT, once he started singing so many of the comments about his looks fell away. There is just no way to make fun of someone who is so talented and such a decent person without coming away feeling like a jerk. True, even today there is still some of it, but those people end up looking foolish, IMO.
He's going to put out an awesome CD one of these days and I know I'll add it to my collection.

I think Kat's parents were just so relieved that Kat wasn't sent home! I am certain they were concerned after the judges comments. I don't understand why people think things like this, they are parents who were happy for their daughter. Come on!

Skype is allowed because the phone calls are routed within the US. It has been cleared with the mods and Fox. Skype is simply voice over internet. It's not power voting because you have to type in the number every time you call.

Most likely Paula's family took the usual route. Europe to South America to Canada and finally allowed into the US

There is always a fine line there, no? Charity work is sometimes seen as a liberals way of assuaging their guilt or for others a way to be seen and attaching themselves to the right cause. On the other hand, if you give too much people can just suck you dry and believe me, he will have a hard time saying no due to his nature. Whoever gets him will have to try and balance the interests.
JDF obviously came out for him big time and I know that they made him a poster boy of sorts which is fine given that he is a decent man and he did make calls home to kids who sent him cards. However, people involved with such organizations run the gamut of personalities and as such may have their own agendas.
Right now everything is still a blur to him. He's off to do the talk show circuit for the next week and then will be back for the finale. I hope when the dust settles he will put some plan together to take of his career and his desire to give back something.
Thanks for the comments....

Kat is extremely wholsome for a Hollywood girl, but she has the sex apppeal and has immense talant to go with it. I think a substantial portion of the Kat bashing is pure old fashioned jealousy.
I tend to agree with you. I don't spend a lot of time on this thread but have notice a few hateful remarks. I haven't seen Kat do anything to warrant such disdain. She's beautiful, sweet and has the voice of an angel. I would much prefer her to win over Taylor. He is too goofy for my tastes, but I'm sure I'd be too goofy for his tastes too. LOL

"And did anyone hear her crappy comments/excuses about why she didn't have as many fans show up as Taylors? "They still love me"
well, out there everything is SO spread out. She really is just another pretty face there. If she were 45 mins north of LA it would have been a different story.
