Color me skeptical as well. JMHO but the vote percentages were contrived to increase the hype and create the notion that every vote is important so AI can make more money off the text and landline calls. Nope, I'm not cynical... I don't buy their percentages either. What bothers me though is that by their fabricating them to be so close, sets them up to be able to lie next week and say that Kat won.

Texting power is the key. Hey, someone can easily vote several hundred times with a cingular phone if they want.
I suspect that there are some families out in SoCal who's teenage daughters will have lost cell phone privileges for a while when the bills come in

AMEN! Thank you jonny!!! That needed to be said.

You are acting childish over a picture he posted? He explained himself and the way you are acting i'm beginning to wonder how old you are.
To: Senator Goldwater
Likely because I've been on this site for five years longer than you. Tenure has little do with the level of respect you receive around these parts. Sure sign of a lame argument is when signup date is pointed to for the reason of your actions.

Logically, Elliots fans should vote for Taylor in droves as Kat is opposite of what they like.I'm not sure about that! I think this is going to be closer than we all think, because eventhough McPhee is a McSpoiled Brat the woman can sing and has a good voice. (When she stays with herself). That kind of stuff producers know they can work with...so here's my thought.
Taylor wins it all by close vote, has plenty of hit records, but Mcphee, as long as she can be mature enough, has hit records too, and will turn out just as popular as Taylor.
Remember, McPhee gets the McTa-Ta vote!

but only appeals to his home town crowd and ladies over 50.I don't know. I'm not 50 yet, my 17 yo daughter likes Elliott and is bugging me to go see the %$^%* show when it comes here, there are plenty of young teeny-bopper types on the AI boards with screennames like "yummyelliott", and Gavin Degraw was in the audience last night.

I thought MarMema said it was like .05 per text message. That's for me without a plan, though. I should have thought, might be more if people are on the plan - though that seems ridiculous, doesn't it?

My thinking too. No way Taylor votes were that low, suddenly. I just don't believe it. I don't either. Not following a night when he had 3 good songs and she had 1.
They could have just said who had the least votes. They had to have a reason for fabricating those numbers.
If you tape or tivo the show, do they still get the ratings?

there are plenty of young teeny-bopper types on the AI boards with screennames like "yummyelliott", and Gavin Degraw was in the audience last night.Yes, I know but not enough of a market segment to make a go of it. He maybe this cute little cuddly crybaby, and women like that sensative side, but the music is not going to be selling to these girls in the long run.
I don't mean this derogatory in any way, but he may have the gay market cornered...

No way Taylor votes were that low, suddenly. I just don't believe it.I believe it simply because AI gets to chose HOW those votes are tabulated...that's the key.
I'm telling everyone right now, this thing is NOT in the bag for Taylor, eventhough it should be!

Oh that too. The gays love him. I could pimp him so easily here in Seattle, between them and all the intellectuals drinking Starbucks, and the baby boomers who sell out Rain concerts at the Paramount.
There are markets, and this happens to be a terrific one for Elliott.
So listen, I whipped into the car at 10pm last night, having called in late to watch all of AI, on my way in to work a night shift, and turned on our local Smooth Jazz as I left.
Guess what was playing?
