I found this comment interesting, "The person going home just didn't stick thier chest out like a sprinter at the end of the race."RK, I know you asked Sirlinks, "What are your thoughts on the interview with Nigel?"
Please forgive me for sticking my nose in to your conversation, but it's hard not to observe that the Nigel quote sure sounds like he's talking about Elliott.

I found this comment interesting, "The person going home just didn't stick thier chest out like a sprinter at the end of the race." I think he's saying that Kat and Elliot were really close and that the winner barely edged out the one going home.

I agree. I thought it was an interesting way of phrasing it. I also agree that the difference between 2nd and 3rd is probably slim.
He came out and said Taylor is probably in the finals and 2nd and 3rd is anybody's guess.

RE : YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL
Here's a favor I'd like to ask you critics out there. Please listen to Taylor Hick's version here :
http://www.idol-thoughts.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page42.html
( just click on the song title in this web page )
And then listen to Joe Cocker's version here :
http://www.soulpatrolshirts.com/media/jc_yasb.mp3
NOW, AFTER LISTENING TO BOTH VERSION, PLEASE TELL ME WHICH VERSION YOU PREFER.
PERSONALLY, I FOUND TAYLOR HICK's VERSION TO BE A LITTLE BIT MORE PLEASING TO THE EAR ( less gravely ).
IF I WANTED TO MAKE LOVE TO A WOMAN, I'D PROBABLY PLAY TAYLOR's VERSION TO CREATE THE MOOD INSTEAD OF COCKER's

RE: TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS
More favor to ask from you critics out there...
HERE IS THE GREAT OTIS REDDING's ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE SONG :
http://www.soulpatrolshirts.com/media/tender.mp3
NOW, LISTEN TO TAYLOR HICK's VERSION OF THE SONG :
http://www.idol-thoughts.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page42.html
(JUST CLICK ON THE SONG TITLE ON THIS WEBPAGE ).
Taylor Hick's version sounds a little faster, more hurried because of the time constraints.
But again, it's hard for me to tell you which version I prefer.
Otis Redding of course had no time constraints and could build momentum. But all in all, compared to
the original, I think Taylor did quite well I would say.
The main difference was Redding's version faded softly while Taylor had to make a bombastic ending which
Simon didn't quite like.
Makes me wonder how Taylor would sound like on studio with this song.

I listened to almost all of Cocker's and then shut it down I couldn't stand it anymore. Definately pick Taylor's version. Now, where can I get an mp3 of Taylor's version to download? :)

What are your thoughts on the interview with Nigel?
I think he believes that it is Taylor in the finals vs. one of the other two.
Also, I think Nigel seems to prefer the Up tempo, dancing, performing, funky Taylor better than the stand still, sing a ballad Taylor.
Did you see Nigel TWICE ON TV clapping and stomping and smiling his British teeth off from ear to ear when Taylor sang "PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC" and "JAIL HOUSE ROCK" ?
Yes, he was captured enjoying himself together with the audience.

Me, too!
I thought it would help pass the time til the show tonight. :)

The Joe Cocker version is a classic, and Taylor's performance on this song was a pale imitation of the original IMO. Cocker has such a distinct voice, the gravel is like the patina on an antique. By comparison, Taylor's version "feels" like a modern interpretation of an antique. And I love Taylor.

Oh yeah, he attempts in his British way to work it out when Taylor is on stage. The British, not exactly a funky people.

AMAZING YOU SHOULD SAY THAT !
DID YOU KNOW THAT JOE COCKER's VERSION WAS A SUPER HIT IN THE EARLY 80's THAT SOLD CLOSE TO 4 MILLION COPIES IN THE USA ALONE !
THE SONG HAS BECOME SUCH A STANDARD THAT IT IS STILL BEING PERFORMED IN WEDDINGS AND BEAUTY CONTESTS AROUND THE ENGLISH SPEAKING WORLD.
