I agree Taylor's been holding back! Had he laid it all out before then he would have peaked too soon. From what I have read he's been totally TAME on AI.
I have read from a former bandmate that Taylor has often given so much in a performance that he was unable to speak to anyone for a while because of being emotionally spent. He just simply hasn't had the time to crank it up like he is used to doing on the show.

Maybe every single one of them voted, and there just weren't enough of them. I am starting to get that feeling. There was that interesting article analyzing the "politics" of the situation. THeynote something interesting. If the number of votes stayed the same for each episode, that would indicate that voters did NOT sit on their dialing fingers, but rather that there is shuffling withing the community. I think that maybe Chris' fan base WAS mostly alt-rockers and that when the time came, Paris' votes went (mostly) to Kat and the remainder to Elliot.
It is really interesting all the buzz Chris' elimination has generated.

Cool! Several people who saw him up close and personal say he is much thinner and better looking.

"Taylor playing guitar"One of the pleasant surprises at last year's Idol concert was that the contestants played instruments. So we got Anwar and Vonzell on the piano, and Bo on the lead guitar. Also, Carrie on acoustic guitar. Good stuff.
I am very much looking forward this summer to watching Taylor play the guitar and blues harp, and of course, listen to him doing that whole soul patrol thing.
Kat, on the other hand, can come out and read the phone book and I'll be a puddle on the floor.

Some AI staffers after seeing Taylor perform in Alabama now think he has been "holding back" his performance on the show. Quote "Taylor's been slipping us the Golden Sandbag" They were gobsmacked down there by it all.
I've thought that for a while, that's why I chuckle inside at all the clueless people who call him untalented and "karaoke". As if a wallet chain and flames in the background is the definition of original performance.
