Several weeks ago someone on the thread asked if Kelly Clarkson was going to reschedule the concerts she planned to do in Israel, but had to cancel due to illness. Jonny, I don't remember who that was, so am posting the answer here in hopes that person will see it.
The answer is yes. Kelly gave a really good interview to E! Online Israel. Here's a link to the video, which is stored at kcemedia.com: E! Online Israel video
The opening is in Hebrew, but don't worry, the interview is in English.

People Magazine reports it wasn't only the audience that was stunned by rocker Chris Daughtry's exit from American Idol on Wednesday: Chris himself was "shocked."
From the People web site:
"It was definitely a gut-wrenching moment," he said Thursday. "I wasn't expecting it, not even a little bit."
If fact, the singer said he thought Ryan Seacrest, who abruptly announced that Daughtry had been cut, was kidding. "I thought he was building it up to be like people thought I was going home and then say, 'Chris you can sit down.' I thought there was going to be some sort of 'just kidding' factor there."
After receiving so much praise from the judges and fans during the competition, Daughtry said it's hard to imagine not being the next American Idol.
To: silent_jonny; All
But rumors floated around the American Idol blogs that Daughtry might be getting a record deal sooner than the next American Idol. The buzz is that bands Creed and Fuel are looking to snatch the Idol reject as their lead singer sometime in the future.
http://www.indexjournal.com/news/20060512a_n.html
Well we know the offer from FUEL is not a rumor, but I wonder if the offer from CREED is really a rumor. IMO Chris should stay away from FUEL!
To: silent_jonny; misterrob; All
That should have been... the band named FUEL is who he should stay away from.
Also Randy said tonight on American Idol Extra after he was asked who he (Randy) thought the winner would now be? Randy said... "I think we know who the winner already is, Rock On Chris!"
I have to agree... and like I said before I was pulled between wanting Chris to win AI this year just so that he would hold the title and then over the "fact" that he would most likely be better off not getting the AI title due to the crappy contract AI gives the winner.
I think I am done with voting this year for any AI contestant this year. I had planned to move my 250+ votes over to Elliott... but I think Elliott will do much better without the AI title and the crappy binding contract the winner gets.
All runner ups have a short 3 month AI contract starting from the day the AI winner is announced. After those 3 months they are able to accept and/or reject any other offers, including any that come from AI. If AI wants to sign any of the runner-ups they will have to come up with a better contract offer then what has already been presented to the runner-up by outside sources. Chris has at least 3 months to decide which offer he wants to take and I don't think it will be slim pickin's for him. Anyone making a contract offer to him know they have to wait at least until September before Chris (or any other the runner-ups) can sign on the dotted line.
Chris is going to have to be very careful during the next 3 1/2 months on what he says to the media about which "true" direction he is planning on going. As he is not allowed to discuss it in the media without being fined by AI during those 3 months.
I do believe that many of Chris' fans thought Chris was safe and that is why they slacked off on voting for him or simply it might be that many of his fans knew in their hearts that Chris would be better off without the AI title and that is why they got lazy about voting for him.
I know I have thought about not voting for Chris in the past (it has always been if I vote it will be for Chris or no one else), but I got caught up in it each week and would start dialing in for Chris. I also believe that these contestants also think about how it might be better for them if they did not win but they also get caught in it and push forward for the title and they also know the longer they stay on the show the more exposure they will get.
I am not mad about Chris being booted from AI. I truly don't believe that many of Chris' Durward fans will actually start voting again for any one of the 3 that are now left on the show. I truly believe we will see the overall voting totals go way down. I believe on EXTRA (ABC) they said there was 48 million votes come in for this weeks show. I don't think we will see 48 million votes come in next week, but I have been wrong in the past. (the week before there was 46 million votes when they had 5 contestants and then this past week when there was only 4 contestants the number rose to 48 million.)
Well that is my AI rant for today... I have had one hell of a day and I am trying to unwind from some sad family news that I got today. So go easy on me ok?

I think he's in it to win it, don't you?

Elliott will do just fine without the title and the crappy contract that AI sucks the winner into.

I'm sorry about your sad news today, whatever it is.
There seems to be a pall over many, many folks.
I had a grueling deadline 2 nights ago ~ had to stay up through the night finishing a project.
The next morning, with several hours of work yet to finish, I contemplated crashing, but decided to replay that link of the Idols from last Tuesday night.
I played Elliott's songs really loud about 3 times, and it was such a perk, I made it through without that nap.
It's that effect I want to see winning this thing. He's a generous, grateful performer who makes me feel better about life.

Thanks for the links.
Every artist signs contracts, with full knowledge of the trade-offs.
I make my living in the arts, and contracts are a fact of life.
It's eye-opening, but I don't ever feel like it's slavery.
The one with the buck$ has the power, period.
The one with the talent needs that ladder, at least in the beginning.
We can support them, too, with our votes and CD purchases.
The winners get endorsements also, and untold other benefits.

I am very alarmed at the talk of an 18 hour day in Richmond. Routine is your best friend if you have diabetes. Insulin pumps have certain inherent dangers which have held us back with our 15 yo so far. You must be attentive with a pump, because you don't have the luxury of injected insulin on board.
You can forget a shot and survive it. If your pump tubing becomes disconnected and you miss it, you can be seriously ill, a la ICU admission, in a matter of hours.
Everything about this weekend in Richmond is a bad omen for blood sugar control. Every single time we have had a serious mishap, it's been during a lifestyle change such as this visit to Richmond with all the publicity and lack of sleep.
So, for those of you so inclined, I would ask for your prayers for Elliott over the coming weekend.

Good grief.
Elliott needs sympathy like a hole in the head.
He wants to be treated like the phenomenal winner he is, don't you think?

Thanks for your time and prayers! I take comfort in knowing that Elliott is the whole intelligent package ~ that he could not be given his beautiful talent without the means and strength to express it completely.

So, what do you all think of the rumor/news that it was a punative action against Chris because on his My Space blog he said he had a $$$ "deal" with his/band?
It was pretty shocking to me he was voted off....
I like Taylor, but think Chris should've been one of the final 2 and maybe even the American Idol.
What do you all think?
