I don't think all or even most of Chris' fans were alt-rock groupies. Many were young girls/guys who found him cute/cool and like more current music. They have nowhere to go now if they vote, except maybe the hot babe.

BTW, I saw the same interview this am (and also have a great disdain for Dorothy Lucy....she could not be more annoying)....but did not think Chris was cocky. Everyone had him in the final 2 and if your in the competition....you better think your gonna win it....humble is usually just an act these people put on to look sweet. I like a confident man....or woman....just my 2 cents.

I agree that Taylor is not a "pop" star. He won't do well on mainstream popular radio. That is why Simon has been killing him beause he doesn't know how he could possibly market him the same way he marketed the Spice Girls. Taylor will fit in the Adult Alternative genre perfectly (Ben Harper, Ray Lamontagne, John Mayer, et al). If one just listens to Taylor's demo's online, the guy can sing. Most of his stuff is not Jailhouse Rock, etc. As Simon said twice in the last two weeks, he can sing. Hopefully he'll do Georgia On My Mind next week. His version of that is simply awesome.

Wait a minute. Why didn't all this come up YESTERDAY before the elimination show? If I called Taylor Hicks' number and got Kat you can sure bet your butt I'd have been sending emails and posting about as it happened, not two days later.

I hope Taylor finds out what the judges pick and what Clive's picks are befoe he chooses his. That way, if the judges and Clive both pick slow songs, the nTAylor can pick an upbeat one.

BTW...something funny on Shep Smith's show a second ago.

He was previewing his show...and mentioned this. He said he had gotten tons of e-mails about calls for Chris that went to the wrong person.

Then, he said, "This is Fox NEWS, if you have complaints you need to go to Fox Entertainment."

What is funny about that is ...on Tuesday, he closed out his afternoon show by saying that Elliot "has to go this week"...sheesh

I disagree as well. I always listen to the mp3's after watching. I loved it and thought it was one of the best all season from anyone. Then again, arguing about music is like arguing about who's a better painter: Monet or Picasso.....

As mentioned, I left off my own opinion (other than about his intense personality, because I've already discussed it durin the season) so others could come to their own conclusions.

It's one thing to have the confidence that your capable of winning it, but another to be certain you are, as Chris seems to have done. I don't think he was being cocky. Instead, he was the front runner most of the season, and I think that negatively affected him in some way. Did it make him coast? Play it safe? I don't know. Whatever the dynamic at work, he didn't win but got voted off in 4th place. So Chris and anyone else who thought he had it in the bag were drastically wrong.

But again, he strongly hinted in the interview that someone has spoken to him about a good opportunity. So no one needs to feel sorry for Chris.

He commented on her mickeymouse voice and suddenly, there she was, talking like a grownup. I suspect that baby voice was something she invented about herself. It did her no good and I have a feeling it's gone forever.
