He's not going to be a recording artist.I've made a point of following the careers of every AI winner and runner up. It will be most interesting to see how things develop if Chris wins this thing. I share your opinion.
(Well, every winner until Fantasia released that disgusting 'Baby Mama' song that glorified unwed motherhood for very young girls. I dropped her after that.)

"We watched Idol Extra."
I watch it too! Even if I have to mute the sound for Makayla Gordon.
I liked the interviews with Kellie and Bucky best so far.

Yes, just listening to Elliots second song made me wish I had seen the live performance. He was great! Taylor was good too. Thanks!

Too bad we can't vote off posters :) Ain't that the truth. I've seen this kind of ugliness on FR before, but never on the Idol threads.

That jumpsuit doesn't leave much to the imagination does it :) It reminds me of that "squirrel b@lls" pic that gets posted from time to time.

We got our first color tv in the early 60's....my mom would switch the color off if anybody came over...she didn't want people to think she was uppitty....that's no lie...lol LOL--that's hilarious.

No, you have been the one with thin skin. You have jumped on everyone who has disagreed with you by calling them names or by being childish. You are sounding like a Democrat. Please try to understand we don't all have to have the same opinion.
To: EmilyGeiger
It was a lot of fun. Certainly not his best vocal but thie show stopped being about vocals a long time ago.

Geeze
Only because I TIVO Idol do I not post here in Real Time.
The constant snarky put downs would make anyone recoil in revulsion.
I liked everyone yet IMHO everyone had one bad song and one good one...Elliot's first song was boring.
It looks like Kat is going home but she doesn't deserve it before Elliot. Chris and Taylor are equally guilty of at least one poor performance. What I don't appreciate is the obvious judge's bias.

I'll make you a bet right now that next year we'll be saying, "What ever happened to Taylor?"Not a chance! Taylor has fans now, the world over. He's not going away, and neither is his new fan base. I'm not saying this because I think he's the best, all of my favorites are gone. I'm saying this because it's true.

It doesn't come on until 8PM in LA? We get it at 7 in Tucson (AZ is essentially PDT now). Can you still vote after the show?

That's pretty sad. There are so many great soul singers. He is not one of them.

Yes....sigh. I still am hoping for a Elliot/Taylor in the end. That would be so great!
To: misterrob
I hope you will post one of your in depth analyses for this show. Always a good read. Thank you. Most kind of you to say. There isn't much more to say about each of them talent-wise. They are what they are at this point. I can tell you already that just in terms of growth on the show, I'm most impressed with Elliott's growth. Like Chris, I don't know where Elliott fits in the current music scene, but then I don't know where any of the final four fit.
The top 10 albums this week, in order, are by:
TOOL
PEARL JAM
MOBB DEEP
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SOUNDTRACK (WALT DISNEY RECORDS)
RASCAL FLATTS
GODSMACK
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC! 21 (COMPILATION VARIOUS ARTISTS)
JEWEL
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
PHIL VASSAR
Once the boost from AI fades after the winner's first album comes out, where would any of these four fit in contemporary music as represented by the above list?

I'm waiting for "midnight" to come out here on the east coast.
I missed the 7pm Glenn Beck show and I was watching House at 9pm so I've got to watch the midnight show.
I'll check the 1pm (east) Dail Idol numbers before bed. I'll also check to see if you've posted your "west coast wrap-up" as we missed it last week.
6am's gonna come early tomorrow!
