Do we, the regulars at ATRW, have the right to expect every post we hit the abuse button on to be removed?

Are you speaking about troll posts on ATRW thread itself or the news forum? For the first, I think pretty much "yes". This is as Dolly says, a livingroom thread. We don't have to put up with garbage here any more than the Dose or the Hobbit threads do. (Note, I'm not advocating the squelching of constructive discussion and disagreement even on this thread. I am talking about trolls, hijackers and garbage posts.)

If you are referring to the News Forum then my answer is "Nope, not necessarily". The mods will make the ultimate decision and that's their role. And turning questionable posts or posters over to the mods for their attention and evaluation is better than just letting the crud stand.

You're probably correct. However, unless it's profanity, I usually just ignore them.

More than anything else they want attention. Ignoring them is my way of dealing with them.
