The salary caps and the Colts budget made keeping him unlikely. I hate to see him go. We will see what develops. It sure would be good to have a season like last season...except I would like to get to the Super Bowl.

From the weather maps it looks like you were getting storms on top of storms.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Over the weekend, Greg and I think we saw a hummingbird, already this year, out of the corner of our eyes. It was far to fast for any other bird and too big to be a bee. Feeders were put out immediately after seeing it. Poor thing must be cold.

Good morning! We got rain yesterday; this morning it is coooold...40 degrees!

Since it is too cold for me and my bad knee to be outside today, I am going to clean. I won't get anything done, however, until the announcement about Tony Snow is made.

I am SO excited about this! I had quite a nice discussion with him one day on something we disagreed on, and I would wish that ALL freepers could handle disagreement like that! I have a great deal of respect for him and I think he will do a great job.

I think I am going to buy me about 20 gallons of gas in 5 gal containers and store it in the shed, get ready for hurricane season, gotta keep the generators running ya know, SIL want to get a 55 gal barrel full, we can handle the 5 gal buckets a lot better. If we get hit this year and our power goes we will have three generators running.

Our hummingbirds are here but aren't as plentiful as other years. Each year, the first one I see is sort of the way you saw yours. Something buzzes by that's just too big to be a bumblebee but too fast to be sure it's a hummingbird.

I was on the veranda two days ago talking on the phone to my niece and two big woodpeckers were flying and fighting with each other and headed right toward me! I was too scared to even yell but just ducked my head instead and dropped the phone!

'Morning!

What a day yesterday was for me....computer froze up, called long distance to computer expert son who walked me through fixing it, TV messed up, tried and tried to get it going, called repairman who fixed it, got a haircut, bought more seed (green beans, okra, and onion bulbettes),mulched all my garden before the thunderstorm (didn't get to the lawn mowing), watched American Idol until claps of lightning and thunder made it dangerous so w/everything electrical turned off...read book by battery-operated lamp, bed and zzzz w/thoughts of "Tomorrow is another day."

This is the earliest I have ever seen them. Mother's Day weekend is when I usually put the feeders out.

This morning wwhile I was pouring my coffee I saw a Mourning Dove couple at our feeder. I love those birds. They are so sweet and gentle.

Yes, indeed, I am talking about football! You'd better bookmark it, because I don't do so very often. LOL!

Was it very tall?

My Bleeding Heart was blooming. It is planted close to the East side of the House, so perhaps it was spared. I should be able to determine the damage by noon.

I know certain, perhaps all, bleeding hearts will get a 2nd bloom if deadheaded. I don't bother deadheading. I cut them back about 12 inches and I get a 2nd bloom.

I got lazy with my garden this year, bought all plants already started, just carrot and radish seeds (not to mention my turnip and mustard greens). I plan to put miracle grow on it once a week. BUT! Got lots of chicken manure but it might be to hot, it is pretty fresh.

I like morning doves too; they're so sweet.

When we lived in CT, mother's day was when we put our hummingbird feeders out too, but in the south, everything is at least a month earlier.

We're going to get those thunderstorms later today that you had yesterday, I think, Carolina.

Last night we went to a drop in for a guy running against our state Representative who I have never liked. He's the kind of guy who, when he meets a woman, talks to and ogles her chest. Ick.

Lindsey Graham's name came up and everyone in the room shook their heads and said things like "He's McCain lite" and "He's running to be McCain's VP". I thought I was in a room of freepers. LOL
