I agree about the gas prices. Americans don't understand how gasoline prices are set, and it's certain that the media isn't going to educate them.

I think the President needs to address it by a national prime-time address with concrete measures to lower costs (like reducing the gas tax, temporary stopping of boutique gas mixtures, etc.) He also needs to address the speculation and competition from overseas which drives prices up. Some people on FR have speculated that George Soros might be pushing the price higher in an effort to harm the administration.

As you said, perception is what's important, and the people need to see that the President understands the problem and is addressing it.

Howdy All....

Guenie, I'm so glad to hear you don't chase squirrels too. Today we did a bit over a mile, Beanie of course outdid me by at least 4 miles. Squirrels.

How many different types of additives are added to the gas in the various areas of our country? I agree Miss M, our President needs to get on PRIME TIME tv and tell the folks just why our gas prices are so high and he is taking this or that opportunity to cut the boutique additives. Who really cares if these additives protect the lives of those cute little three toes pink spotted salamenders? I don't.

My garden. I didn't know squash and melons pop out of their little peat pots so quickly. Wow, I put the seeds in warm peat pots, a couple or 3 days ago, just like the instructions said, and today the little buggers have popped out of the "ground" and are growing. My Mr America tomato plant has just jumped up about 8 inches and has little flowers on it. My "lemon cucumter" had one of it's tenicles around a branch of my Mr. America tomato plant, so I disengaged it and wound it around a fence link, so it would know which way it's supposed to grow. My purpless cucumber is still a little slow, maybe it will catch up. I think I have a couple of potatoes poking their leaves out of the ground, but I really don't know what their leaves look like, when they're new. I need to replant three bush bean seeds, as something has eaten the leaves off and even ate the stem right down to the earth of one. I guess I need to spray them with tobacco and cheyenne pepper juice. The radishes have gone crazy, their leaves are all over their area, but I don't see any radish bumps yet. I planted some lettuce seeds, then read what I'd mixed, I did a bib lettuce and ruffled lettuce together, then I spread ruby ruffle seeds in there too, we'll see what happens. Always read the directions before spreading seeds, I guess. So ends my garden saga for today. Tomorrow will be another exciting day watching things grow.
