That's Kim in the driver's seat? Is that the sweater the cabbie described? Like I said ... I don't know, and I'm listening. So far no one has asked the pertinent questions. They've focused on Seligmann's timeline. I'd find it interesting if two cars were there. I find it very unusual that the escort service left two strippers at a college party without some sort of "security."
We haven't heard much about the AV's timeline prior to the party and after. She was with the boyfriend earlier and called her father for directions, (driven to the party by the boyfriend). The boyfriend was at the hospital and drove her home. That's about it.
I agree. It seems clear she arrived with bruises and was very likely intoxicated, judging on the totality of what we've heard. Where she was before and what she was doing is VERY IMPORTANT and we've heard almost nothing on it. All I've heard on this is two points:
(1) the detective on O'Reilly last night who spoke with sources in Durham PD who in turn knew where she was earlier and had been drinking.
(2) the father, who says she called him to asked directions but then hung up saying "nevermind, WE'RE here." Since we know the two strippers arrived 15-30 mins apart, with Kim arriving first, the person in the "WE" must have dropped Kim off and driven away. My guess is it was the boyfriend and/or pimp, and that he figured a bunch of Duke students weren't going to be a problem for the strippers and didn't need to hang around.
The father also says he was with the daughter earlier in the evening and she bought candy and soda for her kids (a real health nut, that woman). But he doesn't say when that was, and I would guess earlier in the evening before the kids' bedtime.
To me, the other very important mystery in the case is what exactly the SANE report says. Amazingly, a horde of investigative reporters has descended on Durham and yet not one of them has managed to get a look at it. The DA has seen it, and I've listened carefully for his characterization of her genital injuries. I've only heard him use the terms "swelling" and "pain." It's the screeching talking heads who have been throwing around terms like "vaginal tearing" and "anal tearing" and "microtears" and I have no reason to believe they have a basis for those statements at this point.
The SANE report may end up being a lot less supportive of the woman's allegations than is speculated, once defense medical experts can examine it.
