Good morning.
"You're the one that is acting defensively..."
Actually, this thread is rolling along the way it is because you and a few others bristled up at the suggestion that these two young men with Hispanic names and no known addresses might be illegal and/or to blame for the accident.
The fact that illegals without licenses and insurance causing accidents is common enough to lead a reader to assume that illegals caused the wreck should catch your attention. Why doesn't it?

What we "bristled" at was the undocumented assertion that they 1) were illegal and 2) were Mexican.
The assumptions were presented as facts.
If the requested documentation (yet non-existent) had been provided, this thread would have been over yesterday.

A better question is: Why does a story about a car accident have to be yet another illegal immigration thread?
Maybe we can hijack the Mac versus PC threads and make them about immigration too. That would be fun. We could argue about ~virtual~ borders.

Full Court did not ~suggest~ it. She stated it as fact by adding it to the headline.
All I wanted was Full Court to provide a source for adding "Mexican immigrant" to the headline when no such information existed in the article.
