I am a court reporter in North Carolina; the defense attorneys are some of the most respected attorneys in this state; I have worked for two of them, and I can guarantee you that there is no way in hell they would go on national TV and make the claims and statements they are making unless they were absolutely, unequivocally positive their collective clients are innocent.
In fact, they are so furious that all of them are now going to work on the cases of the accused players. In my 26 years of reporting, I have NEVER seen attorneys as palpably livid as these lawyers are.
They offered to let him see the AUTHENTICATED photos, but he refused.
They offered to meet with him last week with ALL THE PLAYERS and discuss their side of the story, but he refused.
But he only has to keep this up until May 2nd; IMO, he got his votes yesterday, and if he can keep the pot stirred (i.e., "Still Looking for Third Assailant" -- can you even believe he called the assailants???), he will be elected on May 2nd and will be the DA in Durham County.
But now the legal ground is even; the judge looks at the case from both sides now; and they are going to wipe the floor with this guy, unless you think Bob Bennett is here for the Rice Diet; and, IMO, he deserves every single thing that is going to happen to him.
Not ONE PERSON in the legal community that I have talked to supports this guy, and, in fact, most of them are shocked at the mockery he is making of the law.
I suggest you prepare for your black eye.
Fair enough point. Odd that they didn't see that stigma didn't go both ways, though.
What? The accusation is that this dancer was raped by three of the players in the bathroom of the house after the dancing portion. How does your mind work that she was *with* three white frat boys BEFORE she even shows up late to the appointment??
That one statement alone makes me positive that Law is not justice has no clue as to how this case has evolved.
Heartfelt and well-written. That being said, query whether the system has not already failed simply by the charges having been brought, if the evidence is as reported. Even if the case against Seligman was dismissed tomorrow, he would still have to answer "yes" to the question of whether he'd ever been arrested ... which, if he wants to go into practically any profession, he will see. He might see it as soon as next year if he applies to law school, med school, etc. Inevitably, the application will be reviewed by a leftist admissions committee who will hold the arrest against him, seriously penalizing him for something he simply did not do.
These were serious felony charges treated way too lightly.
Perhaps the DA should have investigated the matter more carefully. [sarcasm/]
This is a pretty public place, the only safe assumption to make is that anyone can and will discover your participation.
Thanks for the inside information Howlin.
What about the female attorney for one of the team captains? She was on Dan Abrams yesterday praising the DA as a great lawyer and a decent man.
What was that all about?
I don't understand what is hard to believe about that either. It's not these guys are desperate for some loving.
Watching a good looking stripper is cool and all, but not very many non-desperate guys care anything about seeing a skanky drunk stripper.
You just hit the ground.
The cab driver backs him up -- he went to the bank, fast food, and the door.
But thank you for playing. :-)
What would the defense attorney give to play that segment for the jury?
It was about the other 100 cases she has in front of him..........LOL.
She's trying to get him to STOP; she's not going to call him an a$$ on national TV.
INteresting Link I stand partially corrected....I still have strong doubts that or would be prosecuted criminally and frankly that is the only appropriate outcome in my view.
Thanks for sharing the link though.

That's what I thought, also she seemed pretty sure her client was cleared. Maybe she want to keep it that way.
That is the current accusation. She can say she was confused about time and events can't she?
Um, he went to eat after getting that money out of the ATM and really took his time getting back if the money was for the "hos".
Assuming the time lines are correct and the lack of DNA evidence is true, I cannot see how it could be.
The potential holes is the timeline is not correct or the girl is confused about the timing. She was intoxicated and that would not be a stretch. I would be concerned that there was no preexisting contact and that the photo time stamps are confirm-able.
