At http://www.no-lobbyists-as-such.com/florian-mueller-blog/ballmer-linux/ we're reminded that Microsoft wants Linux dead. Ballmer is once again making noise about patents.
Unfortunately, Microsoft likely does have patents it could use against Linux. IBM can probably be replied upon to fight back on the side of Linux with its own patents - supposedly they've called Microsoft patent bluffs in the past just by pointing out that they also have stacks of patents and idle lawyers ready to look for violations by Windows code. However, Microsoft might now be willing to risk the battle.
Microsoft is not in a happy place right now. Vista is delayed, and both Apple and Linux are gnawing at its toes. The increasing interest in virtualization and particularly in package/OS bundling like VMware Player is a bumpy road for Microsoft because of OS licensing. Microsoft doesn't want its OS sales pirated, but it doesn't want to miss out on that market either. Linux apps can be shipped with a free OS; Microsoft apps cannot.

I'm not talking about the whole weapon system, I'm talking about the open source software that they sell. Doesn't look classified to me:

Are you saying it is?
When it becomes his thread, he's got what he wanted.
I didn't bring it up. I'm trying to talk about how the chinese get free software from the US, and clean up all the lies from those trying to cover it up, since everytime it's mentioned all these red herrings and lies pop up.
Hey Mike! I guess the Jim Rome show must be over for today for you to be here. Did you record today's show like usual? Let me know, wouldn't want to bore you with any of this stuff about how the chinese have a chance to make free copies of software in use by our DoD or anything like that.
You're trying to talk about the show but you don't even know when it's on....
Go ahead and keep taking shots at N3w's family though troll.
Sure he has....
And we've gotten what WE wanted....
solid proof that he's on Bill Gates' payroll :)
I'm not buying this load of horse feces.

Again, someone here has to learn that Denial is indeed a river in Egypt...
I didn't take a shot at his family today or ever. Just exposed his lies, like normal.
You haven't established that either.
Check post 173, newbie brought it up and was lying again about it. The truth needs to be heard, and that only ever comes from me.
Liar. You insinuated he wasn't taking care of his sick daughter. It's a personal attack on him and a shot at his family.
Not so. You're lying about it now.
You were suspended for posting it then and you've reposted it here, isn't that true?
They do it with Red Hat, when they rename it Red Flag then use it for all their government computers, so why can't they do the same with Red Hawk? It is under Stallman's license isn't it, the same one that 75% of all open source uses right?
It's your claim, you prove it.
Until you do, stop claiming it as fact.
Looks like someone here doesn't know what truths and falsehoods are...
Oh but calling me ridiculous names and attacking me constantly with lies aren't personal attacks? What's the matter, you can dish it out but can't take it?
Stick to the subject matter and none of this would ever come up. But you can't ever do that, can you, because you have no good reasons for why we give all this software away to the world for free, including our adversaries.
The subject right now, and wherever you are, is your constant trolling, lying and disruption of tech threads on FR.
It is a fact they rename Red Hat to Red Flag, and you've not given any reason why they can't or won't do the same with Red Hawk. Neither could flamer, his lies that the license doesn't allow it are ridiculous and yours are no better.
I wasn't aware it was ours to give.
Regards, Ivan
