I have to imagine that song with it's slow build and ending with Taylor doing Otis' "You got-ta, got-ta, got-ta try a little tenderness!" would have blown the roof off.I think so too. Isn't this the 2nd time recently Taylor wanted to do a song and for some reason it turned out he couldn't do his first choice?

That's the word on the street. Supposedly during country week he wanted to sing a Hank Williams Jr. song and it was scrapped.
Well, it's at least the 3rd, because he changed during Queen week, too. They showed him practicing with Queen one song then they showed him going in to another practice and said, "Change of plans. I'm going to be singing this..."

I found
this site that lists the #1's from 1955 to present day. You just click the year to see what the hits were.
I PRAY the contestants were given more choices then just the #1's!!! That or we get to hear Taylor sing "Convoy" or "Disco Duck".
