With some of these contestants people are having their eyes opened to new artists as well as music styles they have not listened to before. I would buy something from Elliott based on his singing ability and the right song mix.

This is where you and I diverge. Elliott to me is an album guy, not someone you will find singing songs on the radio. He is music that slots into the background like jazz or softer r&b. Has its place like anything else.

Taylor is about the performance to me. He's fun on stage in his own spazzy way and he interacts with his audience extremely well. Big arenas, no. A packed small venue is the deal with him. And while I could see him doing a good CD, he would be better at getting people up and moving. He "could" be the next big fad in music with a nice devoted base of fans everywhere you go with people talking about all the places they have seen him and how drunk they were at the time.
