• Ace Young, We Will Rock You

Not sure how he's going to fit his creepy "come to bed" stare at the end of a baseketball anthem but I'm sure he'll try. Weird choice IYAM.

• Bucky Covington, Fat Bottomed Girls

Awesome! You won't be able to understand one word he says but someone needed to do that song. He'll murder it though...

• Chris Daughtry, Innuendo

I don't know a thing about this song and the 30 second clip on iTunes doesn't show me much. Honestly, I have zero idea how it's going to come across.

• Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love

This has the potential to be the best of the night. I'm still not sold on his voice like everyone else but he has a chance tonight.

• Katharine McPhee, Who Wants to Live Forever

Good song but she'll need to do what she hasn't done and connect with it.

• Kellie Pickler, Bohemian Rhapsody

This is one of those Idiot/genius call. It has the potential to be an absolute train wreck. I can see no way that her country twang doesn't murder the operatic parts of the song. But if she stays with the more rock parts of the song it might not be awful. Either way, she's safe so why not take a chance. The American people are just dumb enough to let her slide.

•Paris Bennett, The Show Must Go On

Not a bad choice for her. Could be pretty good.

• Taylor Hicks, Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Honestly, this is the song I had in mind for him. He will be able to get back to his crazy antics on stage which is what he needs to do. Yes, Simon will call it karaoke but it won't matter because Taylor will have done what he does best which is show his passion on stage.

I do not get Ace and Kellie's picks at all and they have the best chance of being train wrecks IMHO.

Agree with you. As for TAylor, at first I thought this song would be good for him, but as time went on and I listened to other clips, I had hoped he would do something different. He doesn't need more Simon negativity. jmo I'm hoping Taylor can put his own twist on it and do a great job. He needs it.

Here is my take on the song choices... Most of them are very good, with a couple huge WTF's.

• Ace Young, We Will Rock You
Oh boy Ace R&B's and "urbanizes" Queen's anthem. I can't wait. NOT!!! Blech BARF PUKE!!! I can't see any way this works.

• Bucky Covington, Fat Bottomed Girls
LOL! We have been asking for this song all week, and Bucky came through for us. I'll say it now --- He nails this and is SAFE!

• Chris Daughtry, Innuendo
BIg mistake IMO. The song fits Chris' hard driving style, but I think it is going to be another Creed moment for him. This song is too obscure, too biting and too dark lyrically for AI. Chris will regret this song choice.

• Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love
This was one of the songs I picked for Eliot. This week is a huge bubble week for him, Kat and Paris. If any of them slip up they are in the bottom 3. Eliot has the ability to just nail this song -- let's hope he brings it.

• Katharine McPhee, Who Wants to Live Forever
Excellent Song Choice, and the exact song I picked for her. Same as Eliot, she nails it she is sailing along, she flubs and she may be gone tomorrow.

• Kellie Pickler, Bohemian Rhapsody
FIrst reaction - WTF??? Second reaction --holy crap, what a brilliant song choice. If she puts a country flair on this and nails it she will have just punched her ticket to the final 3. Make or break night. This WILL be one performance that we will be talking about for a long long time -- good or bad.

•Paris Bennett, The Show Must Go On
Another one who has chosen the exact song I picked for her. Same as El and Kat -- she nails it she puts herself back into the competition, she tanks and she is on the plane back to Georgia tomorrow.

• Taylor Hicks, Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Not what I picked for him, but Taylor has the potential to make this a "summertime" "bridge over troubled Water" "Independence Day" breakout performance. Have read a handful of accounts on other blogs and news stories that people who "CLAIM" to have seen rehearsals are all saying this will be one of the greatest performances in AI history. I hope to god they are correct. GO SOUL PATROL!!!!!

Ace was very good last week. The Keith Urban song he sang was perfect for his voice. I think the people who don't like him, especially the men, dismiss him because of his looks. He's talented, get over it.
